These silicone scar sheets feel very high quality right out of the package, and the thickness makes them very sturdy and impressive. They provide a nice cushioning effect over the desired area. They're soft and flexible, making them easy to use for all, even elderly. The adhesive tape seems to hold well enough to stay in place, but not too bad to take off. With consistent use, I could see very light fading in my scar even though it was a pretty old one. I cut to fit it on my lower leg. They're discreet under clothing, but for women I wouldn't recommend tighter leggings or pants just in case. Overall, a solid scar sheet option for those looking for long-term scar care.

I have an older scar on my neck from having a mole removed, so I trimmed a piece of the silicone tape to use. Since it’s on my neck, I’m not really worried about how noticeable it is, and I don’t really mind if someone happens to see it while I’m out. The recommendation is to wear it for about 6–12 hours a day, and the nice part is that it’s washable and reusable. As long as it stays sticky, you can keep using it, but after the first use, it loses much of its stickiness (it’s still usable, though). With a fresh piece, it adheres well for me, especially since the area doesn’t move excessively, but you do need to make sure your skin is dry and free of serums, lotions, and oils. . I haven’t had any irritation from using the scar tape. Because my scar isn’t new, I haven’t noticed any changes yet. Older scars can take up to six months to show improvement, and I’ve only been using it for four weeks so far. It’s pretty easy to use, the material feels high quality, and considering it can be reused, I think it offers good value.

not as sticky with more than one use

I've got a 1.5-inch scar on my forehead from when I was a kid. Faint, but definitely still there which is why I ordered this. MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT 1. I'm familiar with NewGel silicone. My other one is a roll. When compared to this, I think the size of these scar sheets are okay in relation to value. These sheets are thicker than my roll. 2. It comes with 2 sheets. I think it's a little bit over a foot. Maybe 8 inches per sheet if they are straight instead of curved. The curved shape doesn't do anything for me because I cut it down to fit better anyway. 3. I like that this came with tape. I think that it's good enough to last for a while although I think that I'll run out of tape before these scar sheets become unusable as I cover a 2-inch area so it's pretty small. 4. I find the strips to be nice and thick. 5. I usually don't put it on until I'm about to fall asleep because I use quite a few skin products before bed. I wait until they are fully absorbed. I don't leave the area without product because it's my forehead and I have a couple of fine lines. The tape and strip stay put though until the morning. 6. Of note is that I've been using NewGel for a while. I do like this better as it is thicker. In terms of my scar, it's not new. I started using silicone scar tape on my faint scar a couple of months ago. Scar is still there. I suppose this could be better for those with newer scars. OVERALL IMPRESSION: I like this scar sheet. I think it's cost-effective if you need something thicker than their 1 mm version.

This is a tough item to review. I want so badly to praise this brand, MyNewGel. Their silicone scar strips are thicker than 99% of their competitors and they feel so much more professional than the vast majority of similar products on Amazon. Their silicone strips FEEL like they should work. And to a degree, they do. However results take a very long time to see, especially if you are using them on older scars, if you yourself are older, or if your skin just isn't as quick to heal as others. If you heal quickly or are genetically not as prone to scarring, you may have a better experience with these strips than others will. Your experience may be better because you do not have to use them as long. These strips are meant to be worn for as long as possible (obviously with breaks for your skin to breathe and be sure you are not having any trouble beneath the strips). The longer you use these, the better your results. The strips are therefore supposed to be reusable. If you wash them with soap and let them dry, you are able to stick them back on. But unfortunately the adhesive is poor. Initially right out of the package and after attempted reapplication. They are constantly falling off on their own accord. You have to tape them down, your skin has to be okay with medical tape. I really want to wholeheartedly recommend these, but it's difficult to do so given the value for the price. I scar rather badly and these have definitely helped mine look less red and have flattened noticeably. So they DO work. But these results have occurred over three/four months. I'm giving this product four stars, because while they would be a resounding five for actually visibly helping my scar appearance, they are SUCH an annoying pain in the bum for constantly falling off and for how little time they last once they unstick for the first time.
