Grand Prix racing in the 60s was saddled with a 1.5 liter engine limit, and wasn't too exciting, being dominated by Lotus, BRM & Ferrari until the change to 3.0 liters in 1966. As a result, there is little interest in these cars, and it's a pleasure to see the pictures that Peter Higham has lifted from LAT's extensive files. The text is fine -though by no means perfect- but it is the pix that have made this book indispensable for any student of classic GP. There are pictures of cars you've never heard of, let alone seen before. And I know I'll treasure this forever. Higham has apparently given the same treatment to the 70s and 80s, and I would dearly love to see him tackle the 50s besides. Love it!

I grew up hearing about Formula 1 from my Dad. We would look for news everywhere. He even had a radio that got foreign news., And 15 foot wire antenna. These books are filling in the blanks. There are photos of cars I only ever heard of. This brings back so many wonderful memories... and a few tragic.I am looking forward to the 90's, aught's, and the teen's ! They are heavy... Very high quality paper...5.15 Stars.

Love this book. It is super reference to the cars by year. Many great pictures and info on cars. I bought this as not only what it is but also as a reference for racing slot cars .

Excellent over-view of the teams, cars, and drivers who drove these Grand Prix racing machines.

Good summaries of all the cars raced in each Formula 1 event, and who drove them. A little more photographic detail of some of their mechanicals and other innards would have been appreciated.
