Robust Well Made Measuring Cups
These cups are very well made out of thick steel with smooth edges although one of the cups did have a sharp corner that I had to sand a bit to make it comfortable. Other than that I would rate them 5 star. The oval shape allows the cups to get into narrow openings and the pouring lips on the sides are very useful in smoothly pouring liquid contents. The 1/8 cup size is a welcome addition although a 3/4 cup measure would probably get more use.

These are entirely stainless steel -- and excellent!
The product description lists the color of these cups as "Grape" and some of the photographs suggest that at least part of each cup might be painted or colored. In fact, they are entirely a beautiful shiny stainless steel. We didn't really care about the color because of the great reviews this item has received, both on Amazon and elsewhere, and we weren't disappointed.

good quality
My only gripe, as such, is that there is no 3/4 size cup. Rather an odd choice by the manufacturer to include an 1/8 cup instead but the metal is well crafted, sturdy, and had no sharp edges. Nice to have a kitchen accessory that isn't plastic!

Great Measuring Cups
I bake quite a bit and was sick of my old plastic measuring cups whose measurements had rubbed away, and decided to invest in a sturdier set. I really like these measuring cups as they are sturdier, a great shape for containers, have a convenient lip for pouring, have a 1/8 cup which I use all the time, and the measurements won't rub away. One additional surprise feature was that the 1 cup has markings on the inside for 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 and 1/8 cup measurements, so especially with liquids I can use that one cup for all my needed measurements and not have to dirty multiple cups. The only improvement I would make if designing them myself would be to have a more rounded bottom, as that makes it easier to clean and to scoop things out like shortening. But that is a very small complaint!

Not quite as well designed as they look
5/09/19 UPDATEKnocking off one more star. After about a year or so one of the handles came off of the measuring cup. About a year ago oh, another handle came off. So two out of five measuring cups have lost their handles. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying metal supposedly durable measuring cups. Not thrilled with these although I am still using them, I'll be at there quite clunky without handles.8/13/12 UPDATEI have to knock of 1 star because although the pour spouts exist on both sides, making them work in either hand, they are very small, and worse, they are so far to the back of the measuring cup that stuff does not tend to come out of the pour sides anyway. will start by saying that I haven't found any measuring cups which I would be able to rate 5 star. These meet most of my needs:1. the cups are elongated so that they will fit into my snapware lids or other similar flip up snap type lids.2. pour spout on BOTH sides, which works no matter what hand you hold them in3. etched in sizes rather than painted numbers which rub off over time4. VERY durable-they are smooth & shiny, look nice, and this is a high quality stainless steel, not thin and flimsy. One thing I can't find in any similar product:the ability to nest them within a size-so I could buy 2 or 3 sets and stack all the 1cups together, all the 1/2 cups, etc. I like to hang them up by size, but this doesn't work if they aren't a little bit angled. Plastic ones are the only kinds I've found that type of characteristic in, and they have too many other problems, like printing that rubs off.So, for what is actually available to me, this is the best they could be, so that would technically be a 5 star rating.

Quality, Well Designed Norpro Measuring Cup
I just received my Norpro Stainless Steel Measuring Cup Set. I was worried that I was going to receive missed labeled cups like others have but I am happy to announce that I received the correct ones! These are quality (thick gauge), well designed measuring cups. I especially like the shape as it makes them easy to go into various boxes and containers. I also really like the fact that it has 5 different sizes vs. the standard 4 sizes that are offered with most measuring cup sets. The feature that I like the most is that it has a little lip which allows you to pour out liquids easily and without making a mess. This is a well designed measuring cup.

Less awarkward
I find it much easier and less awkward to get ingredients because of the shape

INACCURATE
I was all set to like these. They are made of heavy duty stainless steel. The handles are spot welded onto the cups, and all of the cups had the correct handles and markings. I like Norpro's choices of capacities. 240 ml is an even metric amount and it is also one legal U.S. cup.I'm a stickler for accuracy. I have a Jennings CJ4000 digital scale which is accurate. I have tested it with nickels (1 U.S. nickel = 5 grams). 20 nickels weigh 100 grams on this scale.I checked the one-cup measure of the Norpro set in two ways. It is easy to test the accuracy of a measuring cup using water because 240 ml of water weigh 240 grams.I "tared out" the scale by turning it on with the one-cup measure on the platform. This gives a weight of 0 grams. I then filled the cup all the way with water and placed it on the scale. The weight was 221.5 grams. I then emptied the cup, dried it, and tared out the scale again. I started to pour water into the cup, but it overflowed before I could fill it with 240 grams of water. These two tests tell me the cup is just shy of a true 240 ml.I have a set of plastic measuring cups. The biggest one is 250 ml. I tared out the scale with this cup, filled it with water, and sure enough it weighed 250 grams, just as it is supposed to. So I'm keeping my plastic measuring cups. These measuring cups are OK if you don't need better than 8 percent accuracy. If you're measuring dry ingredients in a measuring cup and weighing wet ingredients on a scale, you might get different results than you're expecting. This would be crucial to bakers who need their dough to be a specific hydration.
