Will not work on OEM RAM class V hitch receiver
I gave this 4 stars because the idea of this product is great -- clamp your hitch into the receiver tube so it won't rattle around. It works great as long as your hitch receiver has enough room for the shackle to fit in the correct orientation. This clamp WILL NOT WORK on a 2014 RAM with the OEM class V hitch receiver. There is not enough room between the bottom of the hitch receiver and the safety chain mounts. The correct way to use this clamp is with the shackle looped around the bottom of the receiver and the clamping bar on top. This holds the hitch against the BOTTOM of the receiver tube. On the OEM RAM hitch, the only way it will work is to put the shackle loop the top of the receiver tube and the clamping bar on the bottom. This pulls the hitch UP and holds it against the TOP of the receiver tube, which doesn't work. Eventually it works itself loose and the clamp will come off. I've used this clamp twice on my RAM and both times it came off. I use a 2" version on my 1996 RAM 2500 and it works great because there is enough room to mount it as intended.

Works with with Curt Easy-Mount bracket on a 2-inch hitch
This works on my 2-inch hitch that has a Curt 58000 Easy-Mount Vehicle Trailer Wiring Connector Mounting Bracket attached to it. I thought the regular 2-inch clamp wouldn't fit, so I ordered the 2.5" clamp, which fits over that and mounts tightly. If you don't have that particular bracket, the regular 2-inch clamp should work.

A must have, great product
This is a wonderfully effective trailering product. If you dislike the rattling and clunking noises and vibrations trailer hitch components make during use, you should buy one of these. My current hitch is a class IV receiver (2½”X 2½”) which I often use the factory adapter to pull a class III (2”X2”) drawbar. There is always plenty of slop in hitches it seems, and using an adapter increases that slop, and vibration/clunking. Using this simple and easily installed unit ends all the noise, vibration, and clunking.Installation requires two ¾” wrenches, and about 3-5 minutes work. If you buy one of these well-built hitch clamps, you will not be disappointed.

Effectively eliminates slack in hitch
The Hitch Clamp immediately eliminated the slack that had developed in my hitch. The slack caused a clanking noise every time I stopped or started. The bad news about slack is that once it starts it gets worse quickly. The hitch clamp is easy to install and takes about 5 minutes every time you install or remove the hitch head from the tow vehicle. My TV is a 2017 Ford F-250 with a factory-installed 2.5-inch hitch.

Very sturdy
I got this product to support a Wilco hitchgate tire carrier. The carrier requires a reducer sleeve. When I originally installed it it was all over the place. Maybe as much as 6 inches of play on the far end of the hitch gate. It was a little hard to get the stabilizer in place between the bumper and tow hitch but once it was there it held the Wilco hitchgate completely. I could stand on either end and it would not move. I'll be giving it the real Shakedown in 2 weeks when I hit the back country washboard roads in Arizona and you talk. if I don't report back assume it went well.

Reduced Hitch Vibrations
I have a 2017 F250 with the 2.5" hitch receiver. I recently purchased the Gen Y Mega-Duty 21K Drop Hitch with the 2.5" shank. However, the hitch was loose within the receiver, maybe a 1/16th inch clearance on both the top and sides. While towing, the hitch would shift causing lots of noise and vibrations in the truck. I installed this hitch clamp to hold the hitch against the bottom of the receiver. This hitch clamp has removed both the noise or vibrations, so I would say well worth the investment. The trailer I tow has a GVWR of 4000 pounds, so I do not use the weight distribution attachment. I only use the sway bar attachment. I have had no issues with the u-bolt stretching or deforming.

Exactly what I needed
Bought a 2022 Ford f250 not knowing it had a 2 1/2 inch receiver, bought this as my 2 inch didn't fit. This is exactly what I needed.

Fantastic addition to any receiver hitch
This is a cure for a loose or rattling receiver hitch. It is simple and very well designed, sturdy and made out of top notch materials. It looks better designed and built than any other rattle solution I have found. Very highly recommended.
