It was the perfect replacement. I called American Standard to make sure I had the correct one. It looked just like the old one. Hard to love a toilet handle, but when you need one, you will love it

Simple repair for my American Standard Cadet Toilet
Had to order this to replace the broken plastic at the handle after 9 years of minimal use.The fix itself is a breeze and I did it within a 10 minute window. Just make sure to remove the old pieces inside the tank and this will fit with ease once you place it. The handle is nice (I would have preferred my original). The handle doesn’t seem nearly as thick and the plastic parts that will live inside the toilet are the same garbage I’m having to replace.Why 4 Stars?American Standard quality is just crap compared to their previous models. I wasn’t expecting to need to repair this and the plastic is brittle as anything. No well water, no hard water, general city water and this happens. You may be in the same boat if you are reading this:

Easy to install
Love this handle but hate the price. I always bought a "universal" handle in one of the big box stores. They never lasted very long. Decided to get this one from American Standard to fit my 4266 toilet tank and it is the best handle by far. I am 78 years old, installed it myself in 5 minutes and it flushes perfectly. Should have invested in this one long ago.

This looked to be an exact replacement for our last handle but the toliet tank slightly curves in toward the center and the arm gets stuck underneath other things because it angles inward. Had to purchase a different one elsewhere.
