I bought this set for my 12 year old who is used to working with this type of 3D wooden puzzles. He found this set to be a bit challenging and I had to pitch in a few times to help him out. Couple of the globe coverings broke at the ends and we had to work around with other alternative ideas to keep it together. The wooden pieces could break easily if not being careful. We broke a few here and there and used glue to fix it. The end result is such a beautiful illuminated globe which is very pleasing on the eyes and makes it feel like the whole process was worth the effort. My son has it on display in his room and feels proud of his work. I would give it 4 stars but my sons insists on giving this product 5 stars despite the hiccups. My son is happy and so I am happy. 5 stars!!! Worth it!!!!

Directions were pretty easy, some pieces needed to be sanded. Careful when popping the pieces out, small pieces can break easy

This wooden globe comes nicely packaged. So if you are giving it as a gift, it is super easy to wrap. All of the pieces are on “sheets”. Though they are precut, something like an X-Acto knife can come in handy when the pieces are not coming out as easily as you would like. You certainly do not want to force it because otherwise you will snap the piece. But of course if a child is putting this together, you will certainly want adult supervision if you are going to use an X-Acto knife.This puzzle globe is made in China and being sold by a Chinese company on Amazon. There are several different Chinese companies selling this exact same globe, so make sure you look around before purchasing. This one… At the current price of fifty-three bucks… It’s probably twice the price it should be, but it is a very cool and unique item.

This wooden globe kit makes a really great gift if you can bear to part with it. I’ve had other wooden kits from ROKR and they have been excellent quality and great designs. The kit has everything needed, including the light kit for the center for it to light up. The globe itself is printed on a semi-transparent vellum so the light will show through. One thing that caught my attention is that there are 2 sets of instructions for putting the globe part together: one is the original instructions and then they include a separate set of instructions for putting the globe part together if you have too much difficulty with the original instructions. So take your pick. I really love the wood 3D puzzles and it’s nice to have this lighted one that also serves a purpose past the entertainment of putting it together. One of my closest friends got into these kinds of wooden construction kits over quarantine and I watched her work on her spinning teapot set over multiple Zoom sessions. It was fascinating and she really got into it. Her enjoyment of these has endured beyond lockdown and she's even taken the two she has apart to reconstruct them. I was so excited to present this one to her and I got to work on it a bit with her. It was a lot of fun to do together and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. She loved it and now it lives on her bookshelf, fully complete and beautiful.
