So. One day I woke up and I was magically on the wrong side of 40 with inflammatory arthritis. Every joint in my body aches. Anyway, determined to proceed on with loving life I took up EPP. I noticed all the other girls in class had these spin-y rotary cutter mats. I scoffed at outlaying over 30 bucks when I had a perfectly good non rotating mat that cost me $20 less! But it HURT to pursue my hobby. Having to bend over every which way with my trusty olfa rotary cutter over my cheap stationary may was severely exacerbating my spinal pain. That's when it clicked!!! That's WHY the expensive spin-y mats. Now I stay in position and just spin the MAT to reach all the fun. I can cut and sew 4 hours at a time. No pain. WELL worth the $30 bucks. And it's FASTER too!!! Love it. Love it. Love it!

After moving 4 months ago I have not unpacked my sewing room as we are fixing an old cabin to become a quilt studio.. The 6" cutting mat I have is to small for most projects so got this one to use now and I love it! It fits on top of a small night stand, stays in place, grid marks easy to read and love that you can lock it place or turn it if needed. I like the cushioning on the rotating base over the harder flat mats. I would buy it again.

What a great product! The surface of cutting board holds the fabric nicely so when your cutting with rulers or templates there is minimal slipping. To rotate it glides effortlessly and smoothly and the bottom gripping surface and lock make it a breeze to use. All of the grid markings are nice for accuracy.
