Frigidaire 1/3 HP Direct Wire Garbage Disposal for Kitchen Sinks | FF03DISPD1

The disposal is AWESOME! However, despite the ultra quiet motor, the rubber opening has issues. My old Insinkerator had a large center hole to allow food to drop into the disposals teeth. This one has a tiny, pee-sized hole in the center. When i say "pee-sized", I mean it. Our first night taught us a single pee could clog the hole. Water would still drain, but if enough food collected, you're toast. Even with the disposal on only a small portion of food would go down. We must use the water or the back of a utenstil to get the rest of the food down. If you watch the video, disregard the INSINKERATOR, metal ring. The metal rings are universal in size. I merely left it in place, but switched out the rubber ring. I wish I had kept the Insinkerator rubber ring. That one was great! Watch the video, and check out the pictures. This disposer is incredibly quiet, that is such a relief. It's also very powerful considering it's small motor. It's chewed up everything we've given it with no trouble at all. By the way, if you dont know, save your egg shells for the disposal. They help clean the junk out and sharpen the disposals teeth.

Not too long ago I looked under the sink to discover water. Was there a pipe leak? Did a fitting get loose? Was there an issue with the supply line? No. I soon noticed water would drip from the bottom of my old garbage disposal when it would drain. After troubleshooting it was determined it was time to buy a new garbage disposal. After a quick search I stumbled across this disposal. It seemed comparable to the other brands of disposal and I was familiar with the name of this one so I decided to take the plunge. After this arrived and sat on my floor for a couple of weeks, I decided to finally swap them out. I read the directions and they seemed pretty straightforward. I would wire the garbage disposal directly instead of using a plug and outlet. After removing the old disposal I was able to get the new one in place rather quickly. My original concern was that I would need further electrical work, as the conduit under the sink had little slack. This was not an issue. The design of this disposal was so much smaller than my old one. I did not even realize until after I installed it that it seemed I had doubled my available space beneath my sink. When all was said and done the garbage disposal worked amazing. It was extremely quiet, even when I tested it before I put on the splash guard and noise dampening collar on the inside of the drain. This is the only reason why I gave this disposal four stars. When the splash guard is in place the sink drains extremely slow. With no stopper in place, if the sink is running it still fills up with water and takes a long time to drain. You better hope it is installed right and that plumbers putty keeps a good seal. Even when it is empty it is like the surface tension of the water keeps the drain closed. This is not a huge issue, but I imagine it could contribute to things like the accumulation of debris in the pipes because the slow drain doesn’t flush them down. It does keep large food pieces from going down and it definitely keeps things quiet so part of me prefers it, but I also hate doing dishes and have the sink fill up with greasy water. It does drain faster if you flip the switch. Replacements are rather cheap should you decide to swap.

I've never replaced a garbage disposal, but the instructions were very complete, including how to remove old one. Please note that no additional hardware is included, such as romex fitting and wire-nuts, and all fasteners are metric. I had the necessary parts & tools, so installation went well, just over an hour. This model is smaller than our old one, but performs just as well. I highly recommend this ⅓ HP Fridgidaire model garbage disposal.

Needed a new disposal to replace my old Insinkerator, install was super easy (I'm not super handy either so that is saying something), and it works great. Much quieter than my old disposal, would definitely recommend.

This thing works like a champ. It's so quiet and less than half the price of the cheapest one at Lowe's

I got this basically cause it fit in the hole from an old insikerator. It is very quiet I have no idea why anyone would need a bigger one

Works great and haven’t had any issues. Only thing that’s very annoying is the black rubber part. It doesn’t let anything drain very well. I have to press it down for it to drain the littlest things, which is gross. It’s pretty quiet compared to my old one and doesn’t smell so I’m happy with it!
