Good build but designed for 880Mhz
I purchased this fiberglass antenna advertised for 900 MHz use, and after testing it with a NanoVNA, I discovered it resonates closer to the 880–890 MHz range rather than right at 915 MHz. Build quality is solid, the fiberglass enclosure feels sturdy, and it mounts easily to a standard mast, making it a durable outdoor option. In real-world use with LoRa/Meshtastic gear, performance is acceptable, with an SWR around 1.4–1.5 at 915 MHz, which is workable but not as efficient as a properly tuned 915 MHz antenna. If your project or region uses the 868/880 MHz band, this antenna is a very good match. However, for US ISM 915 MHz applications, you’ll get better efficiency and range with an antenna specifically tuned for that frequency. Overall, it’s a decent product, but not the most accurate for 915 MHz users.

Great Value, quality antenna
This is a really nice antenna. It should be noted that this is not an Omni directional antenna and that is noted inside the box by the manufacturer. It definitely does have directional gain and at least with the unit I received, the high gain lobe is in line with the label printed on the antenna by the Mfg (and likely 180 degrees opposite). It's well built, easy to assemble and install and is performing well. and I'm pretty sure will hold up over time. I would buy this again.

It works but...
I saw disappointing results with my portable node (probably because it shipped with a junk antenna) so I bought this roof kit mostly to see if Meshtastic even has a presence in my area. Height is might when it comes to radio so it's sometimes hard to tell if the problem is your gear or lack of activity. It does indeed work but I should add "in spite of the included coax". According to the experienced users I've talked to (funny how you never find them until after you've spent money lol), if you need 20 feet of coax between your Meshtastic node and antenna, it had better be the expensive, high quality stuff that's at least as thick as your thumb, which is why most of the outdoor nodes you see have the antenna mounted directly to the node's weatherproof enclosure. The fact that it works at all with this much thin coax is probably a testament to the high quality of the antenna. Wasn't impressed with the mounting hardware but it's good enough for an antenna of this size. If I ever get another day off with decent weather, I'll have to get out the ladder and see how well it works connected directly to the node.

working great.
currently mounted to a waterproof housing in a tree about 40 feet up, for 6 months now, I have it connected to a Heltec V4 and its working great.

Good build quality, poor antenna quality. A smaller Muziworks 915mhz antenna is vastly superior.
I don't have a SWR meter to test antenna analytics, but I can go by the nodes & could & couldn't see as well as their signal strength. Mounted to the top of my house for weeks, I was only ever able to get two direct nodes, one came in & out, mostly out, and the other signal strength stayed bad. This is also after I switched to a thicker & shorter cable, not the thin 20 ft cable provided which really didn't do anything. I then put my small portable Meshtastic device with a small Muziworks 915mhz antenna and the local node quality I could pick up went solid green. This little handheld antenna in same location outperformed this. As others have said in the reviews, and I experienced the same, I could sometimes hear others, but they mostly couldn't hear me. Likely tuned bad to wrong frequency as others with antenna testers have said.

Good roof antenna
This is a great antenna for meshtastic. Bulky mounting hardware, nice fir and finish. I have this mounted on the roof next to my TV antenna, and it has held up without any issues. I am picking up nodes a few miles away, wish I could get it higher to pickup more.

Antenna: great. Cable: crap
I'm using this for a meshtastic node from my home. I'll go to the second part first: the antenna is great and I was able to refangle the hardware to be able to hang it using siding hooks near my roof. overall good improvement from the muziworks antenna I was using (note, that antenna is good too but going to use it on my t-echo). the cable on the other hand is just bad. after hanging out of my window and running the cable, I got zero signal from the antenna and my node was down for a week. tried to ohm out the cable and got nothing. I trimmed the cable down and tried to put new connectors on there, nothing. just really bad cable. if you can get the antenna by itself, that would be ideal. I swapped the pigtail on my node to a type N and used nice N-N cable cable as it made more sense. working great now. I know there is an option to get just the antenna on this page but I believe the option gives you a completely different non-fiberglass one. so yeah.... if anything buy this, toss the cable, and find a decent N-N cable to use instead.

Super happy with this antenna, made the difference between being acknowledged and not. I couldn’t get messages off before but now I have a ton more nodes detected and I can actually get message out. Paired it with a RAK 19001 and a 4631 core.

I bought 2 of these antennas and set them Up in different locations for my helium minors. The just don’t work! Now I have to buy other antennas. Waste of money.

I have purchased 2 of these 5.8dBi antennas now (and plan to purchase a couple more). Both read an excellent SWR of less than 1.2 in the low 900MHz range (with 20ft cable). For the price it's an incredible value for a high quality outdoor antenna that also includes a mounting kit and cable. None of the components are cheaply made, either. I see some people here giving low ratings because their "witnesses" decreased, which has nothing to do with the quality. It's important to understand how antenna gain affects your use case (see antenna chart).
