An Actual Product That Is What It Says It Is!!
I love this oil. I've used other myrrh oils prior to using this one --- maybe 2 --- but they came from a health food store where the owners take the oil and put them in clear bottles that are otherwise nondescript, except for the labels they put on them, so there's no way to no where they really came from. I asked the owner on a few occasions where she got the oils from and she couldn't remember. And often at different times, the same oil will have a different color and odor, and I understand that all of that is affected by where the oil was sourced from, what time of the year is was procured, what species of plant it came from and all of that, but yet and still, I take more piece of mind if I know exactly where the oil came from. Especially if I want to order it on my own and I am unable to get it from the supplier, i.e. the lady who owns the store, should I move away or whatever. Anyway, the myrrh oils I got from her, she says they are pure, but they are very aromatic (pleasantly so) in a perfumed way that makes me think there's no way they can be 100% pure. However, I like them cuz I can wear them dabbed on my neck and my pulse points as an alternative to synthetic cologne or when I can't afford parfum. But for use on wounds that are very close to my nose or in concoctions that I make for internal use, such as a mouthwash or a cleanse, I don't trust her oils enough for those purposes. That's where this brand of myrrh comes in at. I'm always very reluctant to purchase an essential oil that I have not had the benefit to smell first because, as I mentioned before, aromas for the same oil can very depending on various factors, & once I find a brand of an oil with a scent that I like, I tend to stick to it. But, thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised (the only kind of surprise anyone likes) by this brand of myrrh. It does have a smell, but it smells natural --- not perfumed --- and it's not overly pungent. And I know it's authentic because I have put it on cuts, ingrown hair bumps, and other open sores and the next day they had healed significantly just off of one application of this oil. I also use it alone or in my homemade deodorant spray (which I am forever trying to get right) and it is really affecting and cutting down odor. lf I apply it plain under my arms, I will not stink for the ENTIRE day. And even prescription grade antiperspirants don't hold me. Only down side is, I can only do so when I'm staying in for the whole day as any oil does not bode well for fabrics touching one's arm pits because of staining. I will continue to purchase this brand of myrrh oil, and after I run out of the brand of frankincense oil I currently have, I'm going to try it in this brand as well. The only con I have is that, the dropper top got stuck in the top (the black screw top) of the bottle one time when I was taking it off & I didn't know it, and I turned the bottle upside down to empty a few drops into a scalp oil concoction I was making, and instead of a few, slow, steady drops trickling out, the whole remainder of my oil came out and mixed with the other oils, totally overpowering their scents. I had to dump the now mixed myrrh & water other oils were in the mixture blend back in the myrrh bottle because I wasn't about to waste it as expensive as it is, but now it is no longer purely myrrh. I don't know if this happened cuz the dropper just got worn out, or because the myrrh hardened too much over time around the dropper top that it caused it to separate from the bottle. Now I can't use the myrrh in my mouthwash anymore because of the nature of some of the other oils in it, but for topical application, it still works great. That's my only issue, but it's very minor. Thanks for a great product Purify Skin Therapy!!!
