Needs extra parts
This kit is nice but needs quite a few extra ingredients from around the house, which I don’t have and will have to purchase. Other than that, the concept is pretty cool and would make a great gift.

THIS is a great set.. YES, you have to buy the stuff but that's a plus!
The tools in this kit are extremely well made and durable, (the molds are flimsy but I think they need to be so you can get the mold out easily). That's all that this is.. a kit of tools and a book of experiments, using things out of your pantry. Some people may complain that this is an inconvenience but it's actually CHEAPER to buy your own cornstarch, oil, baking soda YADDA YADDA YADDA. That means your kids will NEVER run out of the stuff they need to make these experiments.. We have had (great) sets where they had a hidden name for the real name of the powder we would use.. not knowing what it was it was iffy to duplicate the experiments once our little baggies of contents ran out.. this set you can do them til you are blue in the face. ALL the items needed are easily found at any grocery store and are affordable. In fact they are so common that we almost had everything in our pantry. I also thought the experiments lived up to the name of Gross Science Lab. Is it immature.. yes.. but that's the whole reason for this set.. GROSS and FUN. My 4 (almost 5) year old little boy loves it! I even enjoy it!Here is a list of items you will need if you want to be prepared when you get your set:Please Note that not all these ingredients are needed for every single experiment.. Cute set, but not what i thought it was
This was a Christmas gift for my 6 year old son and he was excited to try it out. I was thinking it was like those gross lab kits from the 90s... I made the mistake of thinking it was a “kit” there are cool molded plastic pieces and an instruction booklet but you need a to have a bunch of ingredients for each experiment. Most of which I didn’t have on hand. Just be aware of that before you buy!

Lots of fun hilarious slightly gross learning
Gave this to a 7 year old boy for a bday gift, came in a box and slipped it as is into a gift bag. Very hands on fun and gross way to involve younger kids in simple scientific experiments. 7 year old boy loved the spinning toilet feature. Lots of fun learning. Instructions were easy to read all the ingredients needed but not supplied we found in our kitchen.

That’s Gross
You must go shopping to do most of the experiments in the book...or maybe it was just my household I didn’t have some of the items and could only do 2 experiments with my son until I visited the store.

This wasn't quite what I expected.
This set contains a few plastic containers and a battery operated mixer that isn't really necessary. In fact, nothing in this kit is needed to do these kinds of experiments. All the materials needed to do these demonstrations I had to purchase separately. The instructions are a little sensational as the name of the product implies, so the focus is on telling the kid exactly what will happen. They don't really have to guess at what will happen or understand why it did. Were it not for the fact that my 8-year old loved this, I would have rated it 1 star. I wouldn't go so far as to call this a rip-off, but it doesn't deliver much bang for the buck. There are websites on DIY kitchen experiments will give you the same information without the fancy packaging...or fancy price.

Best Chemistry Lab Ever!
Best toy that Santa brought! Great experiments that are easy to do with ingredients around the house. Kids are interested in the 'gross" descriptions. Safe too, and not messy like some other science labs. Great for younger kids. Of course it's best for adults to supervise, but I'm learning too every time I do this with my daughter. BEST chem set we've ever had, and much cheaper and easier to mix than most...also the manual explains the reactions in a fun way for kids to learn about scientific processes.

Gross science lab
Given as a birthday gift for 10 year old boy. Some experiments were too juvenile, but some were fun to do. Overall, loved something diferent.

You'll need a lot of household items.
Interest has waned, because my household was missing items needed for almost every experiment. While I've now added them so that my grandson might try the science experiments, it's now hard to find the time to try them. We'll have to wait for more holidays.
