Steiner OTAL-C IR Offset Aiming Laser, Infrared Laser

The description states "The visible red laser beam on this “classic” model projects around the front sight; It can be mounted in front of scopes, holographic sights, and night-vision devices" and "Co-aligned visible and IR lasers; Integrated push-button activation; Includes remote cable port" There is NO visible laser with this (OTAL-C IR), it is purely an IR laser, only visible through night vision. I think this is from the CQBL1 Using PVS 14 the dot is bright and well defined, the unit itself is compact, and seems well made. One nice feature is a very small LED indicator in the laser aperture that indicates when the device is on.

So far so good. Just got my OTAL today. Happy to see "Made in USA". Very well made from what I can tell (NVG's coming next month). Packaged with care in mind. Can't wait to try this out. Will update review. 4/4/2022 - Update - Beat the #$#$ out of this OTAL. Have it on my AR during "War Games". Dragged it through mud and dirt, banged on rocks, trees, limbs. Tore the cap off somewhere. Holds true at 250yrds and bright as hell using Gen 3 PVS. Expensive as I'll get out, but worth every single penny!

Upon opening I wasn't surprised, after all its a Steiner, well made quality products, that is as long as you have had one this small and notice the tiny lens cap... Its not a military grade OTAL but its good enough for civilian use, its bright, can be seen a lot further than one might normally shoot in the dark, it works well with my PVS14 Gen2+ NVD. It has Aluminum housing, power switch is easy to reach and Maneuver, pressure switch is easy to engage and I really love the fact that its spring retention as if your doing shoot and cover training and it gets hung on something it simply pops out without breaking the pressure switch cable. Good job Steiner due to the Covid boogyman most ranges are closed or have reduced hours, I have co-witnessed with my Aimpoint PRO by choosing an item 50M away and aligning the reticles of both items, once I have range availability for night shooting I will update... but trust me, I trusted Steiner during my military service and I'll trust them now. You can trust them too, even if your on a budget this one fits nicely into a small budget and you won't be sorry you pulled the trigger for it.

Tried several times to zero this and the turrets would move the laser. So I just wasted $500

First, I would like to thank AMAZON for marking this NEW, contacted Steiner.. originally $832.00 but with the 45% discount, down to $459.00. Second, this OTAL-C is for night vision only, no visible laser. It comes with a pressure switch. It works great it is a STEINER….need I say more.

Holds zero, is easily seen at 200m with 3rd generation Night Vision Goggles. Packaging is excellent (if that matters), mounts easily. Sits higher than expected, but doesn’t significantly obscure the view from an Aimpoint PRO. The laser is *too bright when used inside/cqb/less than 15 meters. Other than that, it is exactly what you want in a quality IR laser designator. I have two. I plan on buying two more.

Using this with my Vector with PVS-14 super bright great IR Laser. Top of the line

Magpul mbus clear top of laser body when flipped up. Must mount mbus behind laser if mounting laser on top rail since laser not offset enough to clear side of mbus. I run this laser on left rail, inforce wml on top rail, and mlok afg, no pressure switch. Allows activation of wml and laser if shooting left or right hand forward. QD mount is one of the best I’ve ever used.
