A worthwhile read
A very interesting and thoughtful work. It is hard to tell, however, how much of the book is the interpretation from a modern mind and how much from the actual ancient wisdom, since I am unable to understand the original language. Either way it is worth reading and pondering.

A fantastic introduction to Heathen wisdom!
This is a *very* well thought-out and thoroughly researched rendering of a classic in the Norse canon. The Translation is sound, and is often, when appropriate, internally compared and contrasted to multiple other translations. The author is clearly knowledgeable, and approaches the subject with skill and style. Highly recommended!

Well done.
I mulled over this book for quite some time before I bought it. I've seen many translations of the Havamal that left me disappointed and wanting. I have to say this one does not fall into those categories. Robin Artisson has penned a very nicely done translation. It is readable, somewhat modern, but nothing detracts from the beauty and teachings held within. I highly recommend this volume for those who want an accessible version of the Havamal and truly hear the words of Odin.

This is an excellent translation, easily understood and placed in context
This is an excellent translation, easily understood and placed in context. Much better than a different Havamal that I previously bought that claims to be for the military. This version is enjoyable compared to the joke that I bought before. I don't know if it was just my copy or not but this books cover feels vaguely like kid-leather, but, it is clearly paper. Making it a joy to read and to hold in ones hands.

Insightful glimpse into Nordic heathen's! Perhaps not so blood thirsty after all?
This text is as surprising as my first exposure to "Lao Tsu" the "Tao" of the East! Why is the Western cultural "Heathen" past suppressed, when it is so much richer, than it's "Christian" counterpart?Oh well, Being able to find it at all, is better than having never experienced it, for sure!!!

Great book
Translations were good and easy to understand. I learned quite a bit from this one, some of which is still applicable to today’s standards

Really enjoyed this book
Really enjoyed this book, simple and concise and I liked that they had the original text listed in the end even though it was translated into English. Good read to start when you want to learn more about the Havamal.
