AWESOME
I've been reading her books for decades, they are amazing reads. I had this in paperback and wanted a hardback for my collection. When I finish one of the FBI series reads I miss the characters. VERY GOOD HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Entertaining but not great
The Cove is a nice, quick summer read, but I doubt that I would recommend it to anybody. Coulter created an interesting plot line that made me want to see how it would all unravel, and that is the only reason I actually continued reading. Some of my complaints:BIGGEST -- her use of narration! Every few pages, I would send her a mental note to choose a style. Either commit to being an omniscient narrator or commit to be a point of view third-party narrator. To switch from one person's point of view to the next with only a change in paragraph is so annoying! If you want to switch, that is fine, but put some sort of bigger break between them. George R.R. Martin does this perfectly, devoting one chapter per character. Learn from him, lady. The characters were pretty one-dimensional. Even when Coulter tried to develop some of them, the transformation came across flatly.Like others have said, the dialogue was pretty unbelievable. The only place I could imagine hearing people talk like that is in bad cop shows. Her descriptions of people and places were really lacking. She did not take the time to create a picture, and instead she just used her own opinion as a way to describe things. Authors need to show, not tell. Let your reader develop their own opinions of things. The last thing that I will comment on was the romantic development in the story. I understand from Wikipedia that Coulter has read a lot of romance novels, but in this story, the romance seemed more like one of her wets dreams than something that would actually happen. If what she wrote happened in real life with an FBI agent, I highly doubt that his credibility would remain untarnished, especially in the courtroom. My overall assessment that it was amusing. I do not regret reading it, but I do not think that I will read more from her.

A Good Book To Escape Toward....
I am a person that enjoys reading History, Military History, and other works within history such as Biographies. This book provided for me a terrific escape from my normal genre of book I like to read and the story here on Catherine Coulters first book was nothing short of thrilling. She kept me interested throughout and the surprise for me was the ending. I had no idea that she would change the outcome from the direction I thought she was taking. Either way I will be looking forward to reading more of her works in the future as I sometimes have to step away from history. A friend recommended this author to me after I finished a book on the Korean War and needed a break; I am glad that she did and I am now a fan of Coulter's to some small degree of interest on the books she writes and/or has written. I will follow the path and as I have now read book one, at my next needed break I will read book two.For people that enjoy reading this sort of genre of book and have never read Coulter before, you are in for a special treat from a very talented author.
