This cute, small, cross-body purse is everything I expected it to be EXCEPT: the ridiculously shiny finish makes it look so cheap!! It literally looks like a $1 , dollar store item in the kid's toy section. It is so shiny-ugly, but it was everything else I wanted. So....I did what every woman thinks they are capable of doing (especially when it comes to the men in their lives) : I took a piece of crap and tried to modify it into something I would not be embarrassed to take in public. step 1- I took that 98% acetone spa-formula nail polish remover and some cotton pads and rubbed my heart out on the finish. For a loooong time, while watching my favorite show (Queen Sugar) so I wouldn't get bored. It was shockingly ineffective! I thought 98% acetone would eat through anything, right? But all it really did was ruin a perfectly good manicure very quickly (it works waaay better and faster than regular polish remover). So, I decided to get out the big guns. Sand paper. But, in caution, I decided to try the gentler sponge sandpaper. It worked just enough that I can now use the purse. But because the purse has a "pebbley" texture, I was only able to knock the shine off the "pebbles" but not off the space that runs around each 'pebble'. So it still doesn't look right at all. Plus what looked like a cute pink on my computer is, in reality, a color that only a 5 year old girl would love. So in my effort to save a really stupid purchase by improving the ugly shiny-ness of it, I instead guaranteed that, no matter the outcome, I could never return it for a refund. So I am now looking for a cute 5 year old that I can 'gift' this to!
