brilliant little set, perfect case to carry in and they were a very good price for the quality. the handles of the hooks are really nice to grip and there is a lot of space in the case itself. the other tools such as scissors and needles are brilliant and i would really recommend them they are very good

Bought these hooks, hoping they'd be easier to hold than my basic metal ones, while I try to manage carpal tunnel during pregnancy. The hooks themselves are very nice. The hooks seem smooth, although perhaps slightly 'sticky' with the yarn for the first five minutes of first use. Not rough metal or anything but maybe some residue left in the manufacturing process that initially stops the yarn gliding. This quickly goes away with perseverance and the hooks are nice to use. The case is also nice and handy and looks smart. The additional accessories are just okay though. I paid extra for the set with the snippers but this is where it was slightly let down. They really struggle to cut a lot of yarn which seems to just bend around them. Takes a few attempts and very precise way of holding them. I personally would buy the hooks again but not to upgrade to the set with those scissors.

This set allows you to jump into crocheting without hesitation as you know you've got the commonly used hooks at your disposal! Not only that, but it handily comes with stitch markers blunt needles! It does come with a few other things, but I haven't used them and so can't really comment on them. But for the price alone the hooks are great. I think they're comfortable to use (any pain is not at fault of the hooks, rather my bad posture!), and the stitch markers are really handy if you're crocheting in the round (for example little ami's!), and the blunt needles are great for sewing pieces on or weaving in ends. I'm very happy with this set! Whilst i'm sure I will probably increase my collection, I am really happy with this set as a starting place and will recommend it to friends who want to get into crocheting!

Was having trouble crocheting with my metal ones. These are really comfortable to use and have me looking for new crocheting project. The pouch they came in is great for carrying small crochet projects when travelling.

Nowadays I'm not often surprised by anything but this little set surprised me. The hooks seem a good quality although I must admit to not being an expert when it comes to crocheting. Despite being able to do most craftwork crocheting is something that has always defied me. Now at the grand old age of 67 I decided to have one more go but didn't want to invest too much money in what was probably going to be a useless exercise. However, this kit has got me going! It comes in a cute cute little well made bag in a pretty green. The hooks have a good shape, are a pretty range of colours, have easily read sizes and 'handles' that are comfortable in the hand. You also get row markers, tape measure - I've not used this I must admit but think I'll be keeping it in my handbag for those moments when you need to measure something but don't have the right equipment. There are also some very useful sized bodkins/large needles in a sort of plastic test-tube. I've always struggled to store these things - they're blunt so won't go in a needle case so I put them in safe places and of course can't remember where those safe places are. I wouldn't recommend this kit to one of those crocheters who can sit, watch tv, chat, keep control of her work and the have the hook whistling in and out at speed. For someone wanting a reasonable quality kit which gives you a basic range of equipment to have a go at crocheting this kit might be just the ticket.

Decided to update my original review as I have now used them. They are great so far- smooth and easy to use, with comfortable, colourful handles that also help you distinguish sizes once you get used to them. I did loads of research before choosing, and I think that they are the best I could have found at such a reasonable price. You can pay a bomb for crochet hooks and I am not a professional. However I am experienced, and they are very good. There are many sizes, the metal goes all the way through the handle so wont break, and they are not coated (I was worried about flaking). People commented on other sets that the numbers rub off (these are moulded in) and that they sometimes had no difference between one size and the next (these are all well graded). The stitch holders and needles, and a little finger ring cutter are very useful. And so is the carry case. All in all, a very good purchase which I recommend highly.I haven't used them yet. Overall they look good, and a brilliant price. A few of the bigger hooks have areas of slight roughness or markings from manufacture on the inner edge of the hook. I don't know yet if it will affect the smoothness when working. I'm hoping if needed I can polish it smooth with very fine grade glass paper or a polishing tool (jeweller in the family) since they are pure aluminium hooks. The handles seem great. I like the texture and comfort of grip. Some brands had feedback about numbers rubbing off, but these numbers are moulded in. They are pretty colours too. Overall, I am very pleased and looking forward to using them. I also contacted the seller and their communication was fast and helpful.
