This item tenderizes like a champ, while leaving your meat look like meat instead of road kill someone skid across. Used on chicken breast to make chicken fried chicken and the chicken was great. Tender. Juicy. Yummy. Get some top round cut to a 1/2 inch, stab your meat down to about a quarter inch and you'll never buy cube steak again.Pay attention though...works very well when unintentionally used on fingers as well, though should NOT be used as a means to get your sample for testing blood sugar. My inadvertent exsanguination reflects negatively on my inattention while using 48 ultra sharp blades in proximity to my fingers. It's no fault of the meat slayer. The oven broiled result was an incredibly delicious and tender experience. I have no problem cooking steak to 145°F interior for bacteria control, as I like my steak "just done". Next time, the sirloin goes on the bbq pit. I wouldn't use this on prime rib or t-bone, but the tenderized sirloin just made the more expensive cuts obsolete in my book. I will eventually try this on cheaper cuts for which it was designed, but for now, I have a new favorite.The operation was easy, the spring tension of the guard was not too strong. Clean up with a stiff plastic brush and soap was quick and very easy, the guard coming off and going back on very smoothly. It's super sharp (don't be stupid like me and extract the blades to touch them, or you're in for a good bloody finger prick!), but safety-designed to keep you from injuring yourself (unless you do the foolish "test" I mentioned previously in the parentheses).
