Hario V60 Mugen Coffee Dripper - Clear Black - Size 02

I am using light roast coffee with citrus notes, and I found with a regular V60 it was coming out too acidic and light bodied for my taste, so that I was getting the citrus flavour without much coffee flavour and body. With careful multiple pours using the centre hole of a Hario drip assist I could improve on this somewhat, but it was fiddly and time consuming and a bit inconsistent. So I thought I'd try a Mugen. And it has lived up to its promise. With a single pour I get a much more balanced coffee with more body. It makes a very good coffee for minimal fuss. I am sure you can get a better, or at least more finely tuned, coffee with a regular V60, and when I have time and the inclination to experiment I will use my V60, but the Mugen is worth 5 stars for doing what it is supposed to do: make a VERY good balanced coffee quickly and with minimal effort, for those times (which for me is most of the time) when you just want a very good balanced coffee with some body and minimal faff.

Great, used as a replacement for my Glass Hario switch which I dropped and cracked. This fits in the switch and works perfectly.

Used for a while now and had some great coffee from this. Easy to use and has held up well after a while. Good price too, would recommend.

I bought this because it's supposed to be easier to use than the standard V60. I used it the way Hario recommend, put the paper in, rinse it, then put the coffee in and pour all the water in at once. Coffee came out great, just adjust the grind size so it takes 2 minutes to filter. Best thing is no sediment in the bottom of the cup. Mainly just rinse it after use but it has been in the dishwasher.

got this to replace an 8 year old clear plastic v60 which had broken due to wear and tear. this one cracked from thermal shock when pouring hot water in to wet the filter. Just buy the entry level v60.

I'm really enjoying having this option for my pour over coffee. I've been using the standard Hario V60 for many years now, and it's great for making my normal 20 oz daily cups. However, sometimes if I'm having coffee later in the day...or if I only have time enough for one cup...then this new Hario option is awesome, and the stronger brew it makes tastes great. Following the instructions, you will make an 8 oz cup that is stronger than the standard 16:1 water-to-coffee ratio. By my calculations, I'm ending up with around 9:1 water-to-coffee ratio. I know I could adjust to get a different result, but I kinda like the stronger result...especially if I'm only going to have 1 cup. I got the plastic version, and it snaps apart for cleaning.
