Unobtrusively good!
I worried this might be prone to showing finger prints and give too much shiny plastic feel for my 110 year old craftsman. I love original lighting and ancient push-button and turn-knob switches, but I suddenly got a hankering for dimmable LED bulbs and thought I'd have to avert my eyes from the unsightly slider and surround. I bought this thinking I'd use it for now, then hunt harder for a dark bronzed metal, but I decided I actually like it just fine. It seemed well made and was easy to install. It isn't really matte, but it is not too shiny and gives something an unobtrusive, warm, bakelite-like feel with my new Leviton 66704-POB dimmer switch.

BE AWARE: GLOSS FINISH! Sturdy, elegant wall plate.
First things first -- I got this in brown, and the product I received had a GLOSS FINISH. Nowhere on the product page does it mention glossy (or matte, for that matter), so that is an important detail. It's not a huge problem for me, but the product images do give the impression of a matte finish, so I was a bit disappointed. This information should most definitely be added.As for the product, it's a sturdy, elegant wall plate. Fit perfectly over a Leviton dimmer switch I had just installed. The front snaps off for installation, and snaps snugly back on to conceal the screws. I'll be buying more of these in the future.

Same product as home Depot and Lowes
They're the same ones we bought from home Depot, only difference is they cost less. First time installation makes you feel like you're going to break them, but they're durable. Look good if you like this style. Buying in bulk is more cost effective that the typical retail stores don't offer.

These look great in our home and were fairly simple to install
These look great in our home and were fairly simple to install. The only problem is that the faceplate that covers the screw holes is difficult to remove. the color in the picture shown is almost a perfect match to what the product actually looks like. I find that colors are usually not the same in pictures when compared to the actual product, however, that is not the case with this product.
