Weaver ants are a popular type of edible insect that humans consume as part of their entomophagy diet. These ants are not only beneficial for plant production as biological control agents, but they can also be used as a direct source of protein and food due to their high protein and fatty acid content, particularly in the ant larvae. In some regions, weaver ants are considered a highly prized delicacy and contribute significantly to local socio-economics by being harvested in large quantities. For example, in Northeastern Thailand, the price of weaver ant larvae is twice that of high-quality beef, and in a single province. The harvest of weaver ants does not compromise their usefulness as biocontrol agents of pest insects in tropical plantations since the queen larvae and pupae, which are the primary targets of harvest, are not essential for colony survival. Moreover, it has been demonstrated that the harvest of weaver ants can be sustained while simultaneously utilizing them for biocontrol purposes.

They are salted ants. Salty ants
These are salted ants that cannot sustain you unless you buy pounds and pounds. Having said that if you want to try something wild and crazy and need to try ants these are clean and safe and salty! I’d recommend if you don’t want to eat ants from your yard and have to dry and salt them yourself for fear of toxins I suppose!?!?!

Taste isnt great but fun at parties
Tastes like salty burned toast. There aren't a whole lot of them and that's ok. The real value here is getting your drunk friends to eat them 🤣🤣🤣
