Works great if applied correctly and know a few tips to get the best results
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND practicing the use of this varnish before applying to a grand work of art as this can ruin it very quickly.I use this brands high gloss varnish to cover, protect and add a shiny gloss clear coat over my acrylic paintings.Even though Liquitex brand cost more it's worth the money for the end results.Other cheaper varnishes I've used have turned out to dry with a milky fog look, definitely not clear or near the shine level of what one thinks of GLOSS finish. A poor quality varnish can ruin a perfect masterpiece._________________________________________________I have learned a few tricks to create a glass smooth finish that dries 100% clear. Feel free to try them yourself.*apply generous amount on art work.*use silicone brush (reduces brush stroke ) to spread thick layer over artwork.*once cover in thick coat, begin to smooth varnish and remove extra run off by Holding brush almost horizontal with no pressure drag the brush across the top from left to full right past the canvas end allowing runoff to fall away from art work. The weight of brush will be enough to remove extra product but leave enough for the perfect coat thickness. Use light shinning off canvas to judge thickness. 2 coats will smooth the grit texture of canvas.* Any start or stop point of the brush will show up, so start stroke off canvas travel across to the other side continuing the stroke off the canvas. Over lap strokes at edge to smooth previous brush line.* Since product starts drying rather quickly, work fast and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX ANY BLEMISHES or thin areas AFTER you've begun to smooth product. It will only make it worse. Can be fixed with another full coat.*i alternate vertical and horizontal strokes between coats to further prevent lines from forming.* Too thick = milky foggy wavy finish*Too thin= irregular shinny finish or none at all.*Mess with product while drying= lumpy uneven milky finish ( its sticky while drying)__________________________________________personally i do about4-6 coats for a deep clear coat look. Its very hard to see in my pictures since yeah. the stuff dries clear.good luck and "happy little accidents"

Great product with excellent shine
I wanted to try a different gloss product for rock painting/pouring and saw this on a Youtube art vlog. It's much easier to use than a resin/hardener combo. But it does not have the same high gloss effect resin does. However, it's better than most of this kind. All you need to do is pour a small amount of the varnish on the rocks, rub in including sides and bottom, let dry. I let mine dry on parchment paper. Add another layer if you'd like for more shine. So easy and very nice shine.

practically perfect gloss sealer, but still plastic & ammonia allergies
UPDATE: In the interest of eliminating my allergies from the ammonia and plastic chemicals for my health and the environment, I was delighted to find something that is all-natural, and also is archival, acid-free, and looks just like the gloss varnish I have been using--I've switched to SpectraFix's new Natural Glass varnish and medium!! Wanted to make sure to post the happy update here.this is a close to odor free, clear sealer that works great and doesn't aggravate my many allergic issues as much as the smellier Mod Podge which gives me nasal congestion faster. The liquitex is thinner than mod podge but goes a longer way, and while mod podge can be diluted and used, it says specifically on the liquitex not to thin it. I am currently using this over mod modge coats for decoupage projects so the final sealer coat is not tacky. ( I prefer this to spraying acrylic spray which is worse for my lungs and for getting on other things in the room.) May just switch to just this as a sealer when my mod podge hard coat and furniture mod podge run out (and just use paper matte mod modge to glue things down--getting the "paper" version is important as its the only acid-free version of mod podge). This liquitex gloss can also be used over watercolor or other art media pieces to seal them, depending on their final purpose. very happy to have found this!

Great Liquid Water-based Varnish
I normally, and have used, spray varnishes like Golden, Liquitex, and others, yet lately haven't been impressed as they are oil-based and can spray unevenly, create waste from over-spray, and leave drops on the canvas. I wanted to dry a brush-on varnish for my acrylic paintings and have trusted Liquitex as a brand, and have been very happy with the coverage and ease-of-use. And I was very happy to learn it is water-based, though will dry to a hard, clear water-shedding surface that is also non-yellowing and offers UV protection. Clean-up is a breeze. Highly recommend.

Lovely finish
I love this varnish. It dries quickly but just slow enough to brush it on and have a nice finish. Also provides durability/ weather proofing for painted foam clay. I've also used it on decoupage and painted wood. I clean my brushes with acetone afterwards, then soap and water.
