Pearls of Great Price: 366 Daily Devotional Readings

I've used many devotionals over the years, but I've never found one that uplifts and encourages me as much as this one. Each is written from the Holy Spirit to Joni to the reader. And unlike some other devotionals that give inspirational instruction, this one comes from one who has personally been edified by and who understands the Scripture's life application. There is a depth here that goes beyond simply relating a personal experience and sharing how a particular Scripture helped. Joni brings God to the reader in a way that makes Him palpable.I have purchased seven additional copies [so far] to share with others..............and those people have testified to how much they've been blessed by the daily encouragement. One is disabled. Here is what he wrote: I cannot seem to put “Pearls...” down. It’s supposed to be a daily devotional, but I’m days ahead. I really appreciate the Scriptural references for all of Tada’s experiences and examples. Thank you for sending me this treasure. I know I will be a better Christian for having read it. God has brought me strength through [them] these last few weeks when I have really needed it because of some life-threatening complications which got me down.Disabled or just dealing with the sufferings of life, these devotionals are indeed Pearls of Great Price.

My sister in law loved this book. She is wheelchair bound with MS. She can relate to the author, also wheelchair dependent.

I gladly recommend this to Christians who desire a much closer walk with the Lord. I've read a number of books by Joni and have gleaned precious insights from each one.

I absolutely love it! It blesses me immensely every day. I often can't stand to read just one, so I open another (random) part of the book and read at least one more. Each day/page is of course based on a Bible scripture, then Joni adds a wonderfully written message pertaining to that verse from her own personal experience. Joni is a shining example of a Spirit filled and God led Christian, thoroughly devoted to her ministry, and to inviting everyone to accept Christ's offer of salvation. I am adding this devotional to my list of treasured books and resources, buying and keeping multiple copies on hand so I may share it with others as the Holy Spirit leads.

I started this Jan 1st, so I'm not quite through the year but I love it. I read Joni's "Diamonds in the Dust" devotional for 2 years in a row before buying this one. I love the fact that the devotionals are only 1 page long -start with a scripture, then a 'story', then Joni's mini sermon on the story( about 2-3 sentences) and then finishes with a 1-2 sentence prayer. I can always find time to read this in the morning, even those mornings when I don't have time to read my Bible first. Joni is always so transparent and humble. I like this so much that I am buying copies to give as gifts.

Joni navigates life with quadriplegia with grace as she fully relies on her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. this devotional is full of vignettes from her own life and others, pointing to "the God of hope found in suffering." She has led a full, productive life, including a lasting marriage, despite being wheelchair bound since 1967. When I am feeling low and want to pull the covers back over my head, Joni's perspective turns my eyes to the Lord. He is where help comes from.

I gleaned a lot from this little book. Sometimes it was conviction, sometimes encouragement. I will be doing it again this year.

Was exactly how it was described. It is in great shape and was a great deal!

Finished this book in just over a month. I would read a whole month's devotions at a time. It was a really rewarding read with great stories, wisdom and guidance which I can still recall. For example, I don't think I'll ever forget the advice to "preach the gospel to yourself". VERY NECESSARY advice for the modern man/woman indeed as we rush through our lives and don't take the time to do this!! All in all, taught me quite a bit. Thanks to Joni for sharing with us.

Superb daily reading book especially for someone disabled. I had to buy a second one recently as my original was getting tatty. However one star lost because it was described as new and charged as such but it was written on fairly extensively in biro inside! however, I am not willing to send it back as I think it was the last one available for the moment. Be blessed anyway by this means or Diamonds in the Dust which is another of Joni's and equally excellent.

I am enjoying reading this book each morning. First a Scripture verse followed by Joni's thoughts for the day and then finishing with a prayer, it puts me in the right frame of mind to get on with my day. A good practical book.

I read this book when I go to bed as I use Everyday With Jesus in the morning. I have tried some previous notes but this is certainly one of the best and also doesn't come up with ridiculous comments which I have come across in other notes I have tried.

Bought as a gift and was very happy with it.
