I feel dumb asking this question but i just had to sure, its ok to have it plugged in the entire time your waxing right, it will never burn?

It heats to a suitable temperature, I have never burned my daughter, what I do is that I disconnect it, apply it to the area to be waxed and reconnect it so that it stays warm and can roll well.

I see that wooden applicators are sold with this product. Are those actually needed? I thought this was a roller...

the wooden applicators use for case that you may need to smooth it more after roll. yes, you are right it is a roller.
