No need for a CCK cable like others! it comes with a lightning to microUSB ...
So, I've been searching for a portable DAC/AMP that would be compatible with my iOS products for some time now. I actually ended up buying several options, and have had the chance to compare and contrast using several different headphones. I have the Objective 2 ODAC amp as my desktop amp by Mayflower electronics, a Fiio E18, and a Dragonfly black. My headphones include Fostex T50RP Mayflower 1 Mod, AKG K712 pro, and V-moda M-100s, which I've done lots of A/B comparisons via different combinations.I went out on a limb and ordered the Topping NX4 portable DAC/AMP and long story short, it delivers!Use with my iOS device:Connectivity: No need for a CCK cable like others! it comes with a lightning to microUSB cable, and it works flawlessly! Plug and play with iphone devices.Using it with a PC desktop: You'll need to download drivers from the topping website in order to use it with your PC. Once this is done, it sounds great!Sound quality: This DAC has a clean sound. Now the iphone 6s dac is actually pretty good in my opinion, so it isn't a HUGE upgrade, but you can hear a slight difference. It is definitely better than the sound card on my PC. It is not quite as clean as the O2/ODAC, but it is definitely on the cleaner side. This is especially apparent when contrasted to the Fiio E18, which has a fuller, richer sound produced by the DAC, in my opinion. The dragonfly to me, sits somewhere in the middle between the Fiio and the NX4. There is a bass boost switch, which produces extra bass at normal listening volumes - this is OK. I've heard better and I've heard worse. I find myself using it at lower volumes on songs which aren't bass heavy for a little added depth and warmth. When listening with my V-moda and K712's, which have a robust low end, I don't use the bass boost much. Once the amp starts to push hard, the bass distorts and isn't very pleasant (only noticed with pushing very hard headphones like my Fostex at close to max volume on high gain). However, if the bass boost is off at high volumes, the low end sounds clean.Power: Using this with an iOS device mutes some power when compared to a PC (roughly 15-20%). However, this little thing can push my Fostex (very hard to drive headphones) to a loud listening level on high gain. For quiet songs, you may desire a touch more if you like to listen to your music very loud, but for most situations, it is more than adequate. Now, if you're on a bus or subway with you're Fostex with this device, you may want a touch more power, but these headphones are not the most portable options, so that scenario isn't very likely to me. At the highest volume on high gain, the sound distorts, and even more so with the bass boost on. When on normal gain, at max tilt, the sound remains clear. Powering my K712 is a definitely easy, even from my iphone 6s. Max volume is uncomfortable to me on my K712, but again, it distorts enough to be ugly. Again, when plugged in to a PC, there is more power, and this little amp has some punch. Powering the V-modas is a breeze on both iphone and PC and volume isn't ever past half tilt (and even thats LOUD).Compared to the Fiio and dragonfly black - it doesn't have the multimedia button control on the E18, and it cannot charge your phone as the E18 does. It does have a dedicated battery so it won't draw power like the DFB. I thought i was going to return one or the other, but to be honest they have different sounds, and I like them all in their own way. There is more power from the NX4 compared to the Fiio and DFB, but all are very good in my opinion. If you're going to use it for an iOS device, the NX4 is better because it skips the CCK connector needed for the dragonfly or Fiio. If a clean and neutral sound is more important to you, this amp/dac may be better for you.If you're looking around for a good portable option, this is really very good in my opinion and you WON'T be disappointed. Hope this helps.

Great bang for the $$$
I bought this as part of my foray into the world of “higher fidelity” personal audio. I paired this with a pair of Tin Audio T2 Pro’s and a pair of BGVP BGD’s and connected them with the Yinyoo Upgrade 8 Core Silver Plated Copper Cable HiFi Earphone Replacement Cable. I didn’t know what to expect other than it would be better than my $25 Sennheiser ear buds plugged into my four year old Android phone playing MP3’s. What I wasn’t prepared for was just how much better the experience would be. I don’t have the flowery audiophile descriptions to say just how astonishing the music is. The clarity, depth and separation. The placement of each instrument and voice is no longer just thrown into my head in a haphazard manner. Everything is where it should be and the soundstage has made it feel like the distance between my ears has gone from a few inches to many yards. As far as “smiles-per-dollar” goes it’s just nuts. I’ve been listening to music since before Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s formed Led Zeppelin. I grew up in SoCal and I’ve been to hundreds of concerts, I’ve spent buckets of Benjamin’s on stereo gear and sold stereos back in the 70’s but I’ve never felt this engaged in the music. It’s nice to be surprised. As this is my first foray into digital HiRes gear I don’t feel qualified to say this is better than that. I did have a price point in mind and did a good deal of research prior to purchasing the Topping and I do feel that it was money well spent. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to step up their enjoyment of their digital music. I use it as a portable dac/amp as well as a desktop solution. It takes a line out from my laptop and feeds it into my A/V receiver or my headphones/IEM’s. On the desktop it can remain plugged into the power source so the battery remains charged and ready to go if I want to venture out. I’ve taken it on walks and bike rides and as far as I know the battery is good for many many hours in amp mode only. In dac/amp mode I think you could get upwards of 10 hours before you had to charge it.

High clarity and and massive power! Combination DAC / Headphone Amp.
Bear with me here - I am trying not to be too nerdy . . . I wanted more than just plain power:I bought this item to attach to my Samsung Galaxy Note 910F as an external usb fed DAC and todrive a pair of Sony MDR1-A headphones so that I could listen to to some normal and hi-res audiotracks at a decently higher volume that the phone could provide and thus re-visit the noise levelsof my mis-spent youth as well as explore the classical and jazz catalogue I now enjoy as a resultof my older years!I bought this mainly because the large 2400 mAh battery should provide double the life of the Sonyequivalent product and do this at less than half the price.Solidly built, Topping's NX4 feels professional and premium, the rotating volume control has anice solid & reassuring resistance when turned.Presentation box is nice and arrived from Treasure Nova very quickly.Unit is packed within dense grey foam protection and comes witha box packed below containing all cables for Apple lightning port to Micro USB,Micro USB male to Micro USB male, USB to micro USB male and a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mmphone/headphone analogue cable for amp only use.Strangely, Unit is black and yet the cables are all white?A couple of big thick black elastic bands are also in there for strapping to your phone or playershould you wish. The instructions are very sparse and basic.First I tried the headphone socket route which worked perfectly although my first efforts to usethe new DAC via usb were not very good:Using my phone's native Samsung Music app I found there were frequent cut outs and drop outsduring listening.I immediately blamed the NX4 unit - but . . . . I soon found I was completely and utterly wrong. After downloading a PC driver, I connected the unit to my PC as a USB DAC and home hifi andfired up some music and then drove some 24bit 192khz music through the usb and into the NX4 DAC -and behold, utterly perfect sound! No drop outs, noise or distortions of any kind.I returned to the phone and downloaded Onyo HF audio player which has it's own usb transportdriver which as turns out appears to be much better than the Samsung one.I put the phone in aeroplane mode and shut all and every app I could. On playing tracks throughOnyo HF player into the NX4 90 - 95% of the drop outs had vanished.Bizarrely the high 24bit tracks at 96khz and 192khz appeared to have no drop outs at all and320 Mp3's and FLACs also very little if any. - Sorry Amazon, but your mp3's I bought off primewere the worst culprits - must be something about the variable bit rate perhaps?.The sound through the Sony MDR-1A's was now very clear and distinct. New sound details wereapparent now within tracks that seemed previously ok.Even when turned up loud little if any? distortion was apparent. I was now happy.Beware the volume control on the high gain setting - this unit is VERY powerful indeed.I would advise the low gain setting if possible. The sheer sound power and clarity that this unit pumps out really is unbelievable, On USB DACinput It can easily go "Gig - loud" and on earphone input it is a perhap little quieter. Additionally I am unable to detect any form of background interference or noise. Very clear indeed.High volume ability is way beyond anything that my phone or any of my old MP3 players can achieve.(Much louder than my previous NX2)Reassurringly the NX4 unit also seems only to get slightly warm after a couple of hours use.I would conclude that this is a fantastic and very powerful little unit that provides a sound stage of great clarityWell done Topping! - It is sad that the only caveat is that it's and all other DACs functions are reliant on theability of the host player to transport an uninterrupted stream of data to the NX4 without causing drop outs.(Sort out your USB transport drivers and sytem Samsung!)Assuming your host unit/player can be tweaked to achieve that then you will have a seriously loud and veryclear hi res music solution that will easily match or exceed one costing 2 or 3 time the price.Recommended product for those who are willing to tweak the host player and mess around a bit.(Although I think that same same conclusion might apply to all DACs.)

WOW
had this amazing little DAC DSD amp for a couple of days now and that headline up there, that says it all WOW.This is one seriously good little tool. It really gives your music some power and all without adding any unwanted sounds of it's own nor does it subtract anything from the music. If you are looking for a simple relatively inexpensive powerful clean sounding little headphone amp/DAC, look no furhter than the Topping NX4 DSD

Excelente calidad y comodidad.
