Crazy About Cupcakes

If your a crazed cake decorator like myself, you are always looking for different recipes, decorating and presentation ideas...finally a "different" cookbook has arrived.There are many different recipes inside this large book for the cake and frostings themselves...but the ideas for decorating and presentation are DIFFERENT and some cool displays are presented as well. There are even fancy designs for elegant cupcakes (a tiramusi cupcake!) - petit four type ideas...this alone is worth the price of the book and I'd pay twice the price of this book for that.Some of the reviews on amazon can go on and on and on - and you fall asleep before you can finish reading them...I don't have time for that -- I don't have time to be doing this review - BUT one thing for sure - if I take the time to give a review on a book it is special and a must have.BUY THIS BOOK!!!

I'm one of those busy office workers who does not seem to have the time to make things. This book is wonderful! It teaches me to slow down and take care in measuring and mixing because the results are absolutely smooth, moist and just divine! I would like to start off by saying that baking is not really my thing because I would not know where to start. In fact, this is the BEST category to start. Cupcakes bring something back from your childhood. The way I think, 3 things would make you smile the most. Children, pets and CUPCAKES!I'm from Australia and one of the things I find a bit fiddly to adjust is the conversion of everything into metric. I have no idea how many sticks of butter = whatever weight, but luckily google is my friend. All temperatures are to be converted, but it is touch and go a bit with your oven types. I have never overcooked my cupcakes, so it is just a case of leaving things in there a little bit longer until they pass the skewer test.For a non-cook like me, I love the fact that the ingredients are listed in the order they are being used. Nothing annoys me more than having to jump about the book to work out what I should use, what quantity and how to mix it. It does take absolutely aaaaaaages! More time is left for you to mix things properly and in the desired time.I've tried many recipes on there but my ultimate favourite is the kahlua + tiramisu combo. One small thing, which is not overly major is that the recipes do not tell you how many cupcakes you make. So you do find that sometimes, you have to make 2 trays + a few more depending again on the oven settings and the rise. But these are the things that are beyond the control of the book, and something you would need to find out yourself.2 thumbs (and toes) up for this book.LOVE IT!

I purchased this book based on the reviews and I'm glad I did. The author of this book starts with tips on how to do the things she talks about in the recipes and also background on ingredient alternatives and decorating tips. Then she lists all the cake recipes, followed by the topping recipes and then puts them together in clever ways with cute toppings to satisfy any event. She also lists many alternative ideas of what you can add to the cake and frostings in addition to the "plain" recipes.Only downside: no recipe for Red velvet :(

This is a great recipe book- I had one and ordered another one for my nieces. They love to make cupcakes and started a small business making them.

I was a beginner cupcake baker when I bought this book (only had experience with out-of-the-box baking) and am now experimenting with my own recipes! Directions are very clear and precise, and the ingredients and tools needed can all be found in your local supermarket or arts & crafts store. Perfect book for someone just getting into baking, or looking for new techniques or flavors to make edible art! The photos are extremely helpful for replicating her cupcakes as well.

This book is GREAT!!!I have tried quite a few recipes from this book and I must say that they always turn out delicious. I especially like that the you can mix and match between the cake and frosting recipes to come up with your own very delicious version.This is a great addition to my library!

I bought a second copy of this one (I spilled batter on the first one!). I love this cookbook. I have made many of the recipes in here and they're always met with rave reviews. The vegan ones in here are a hit. I love her suggestions for combinations also. Not any weird ingredients in this book, either, and it's not just about decorating, although there are a few ideas for that in here.

I bought this based on the reviews here. Initially I relaly liked the layout of the book and the reciepes (needs more photos). Since getting it I have tried two receipes and they flopped. I am quite a good baker, so I don't think it was my techniques. This book left me wanting something more.I then bought the Martha Stewart Cupcake book (not a huge fan of hers), and I think it is a much, much better book. I have tried 3 receipes and all 3 came out perfectly. The images are fantastic and the ideas of decoration very good. Worth getting this one over the Crazy About Cupcakes.

amazing Cupcakes to make.

Das das Buch in engl. Sprache ist, schreckte mich anfangs ab. Aber inzwischen ist dieses Buch für mich mein ein und alles. Die Vielfalt an Rezepten, Toppings und Kombinationsmöglichkeiten sind für mich mehr als ausreichend. Ich brauche kein weiteres Buch mehr über Cupcaks.

私はデコレーション（口金で絞る方）の参考になればと購入したのですが、それにはあまり役立ちませんでした。カップケーキの写真とレシピは同じページに載っているとは限らないので、実物を確かめたい時は少し面倒です。しかし、それを除けばとても親切な内容でカラフルな作りです。レシピ等、本当に必要な部分の英文は、さほど難しい英文ではないので、心配無用だと思います。色んな味のカップケーキのレシピ、カップケーキの中身のレシピ、そして飾りに使うフロスティングやアイシング等のレシピ…と数多くのレシピが載っているのはもちろんの事、まずカップケーキに使う材料一つ一つについての説明が最初に、相性の良いカップケーキの味の表、それぞれの味に合うデコレーションの食材、その食材の細かい情報（例えばナッツなら、具体的なナッツ名）といったものが最後の方に載っています。

ein Buch das mit professionellen Bildern begeistert und auch zum nachmachen anregt. Leider nur in Englisch - was jedoch einen Fan der Cupcakes nicht hindern sollte sich von den Ideen begeistern zu lassen.
