National Hardware N148-486 Continuous Hinge, Nickel, 1-1/2" x 72"

This was exactly the quality, sturdiness, and function I was looking for. I used this hinge to mount a large dog door flap on the rectangle opening I cut in a solid wood door. (I have two 100# outside dogs afraid of thunder, in frightened desperation when I wasn't home, ate the bottom of two hollow core doors to get to the back room of the garage.) I did have to customize this to a little shorter with a hack saw, but it looks great and functions with the dog door flap just as I had planned, envisioned, and hoped for. Yay!

I had a couple of extra 100 watt solar panels left after I mounted 8 on the roof of a camper remodel project, so I put them to use. I didn't have any more room on the roof so I used this hinge to attach the two aluminum framed 100 panels together, while allowing me to fold them up and stow away while being under way. I used a couple of latches (another review) to keep them closed up when not in use. It is heavy for a 200 folder, but they should last 15-20 years or so, like quality roof mount panels do. The hinge carries the weight (est 40 Lbs) well,provides full range of motion, appears to be quite durable, fastened very well to the panels, and proved to be an economical way of getting use from surplus materials.

This product is good if you want to utilize Balsawood. It is very bendable and flimsy, it should only be used in extra light duty projects.

We just used this 12" hinge to hang a sewing thread rack and it works great! We actually hung two thread racks, but the bottom rack was a 12" Gate House brand nickel hinge because we only had one. Amazon didn't have that brand, so I ordered this National Hardware nickel hinge that matches exactly to the Gate House brand. They look the same. Both hinges are screwed into the wall stud at the corner of one of the walls in my sewing room allowing my all-purpose threads to swing away from the wall for easy access. I also have much larger racks for king cone embroidery threads that we installed with 36" hinges in another area of the same room.

it's worth the money. i mean - IF ya need one like this. i bought it to use to put a board/cover over my homemade doggie-door. there are times i have to keep the little ones out of my bedroom, and instead of putting something in front of the door, i can let the board down and pick it back up and lock it in place - it's just easier for me.

This hinge was exactly what we needed. We restored a handmade bench that had a completely rusted hinge. I did the measurements and this hinge was the exact size. Once we restored the bench, I was able to install the new hinge. It came out beautiful! We are so very satisfied!

A 48-inch flat thin hinge, shipped in a flimsy cardboard sleeve. Gee I wonder how the shipping turned out. Did the cardboard sleeve bend? Yes. Did the hinge inside bend? Yes. However, I was able to straighten it out enough to use it. The hinge itself is pretty nice. Comes with 48 screws. 5 stars on the hinge. Zero stars on the shipping team. Average: 3 stars.

I used to replace the broken plastic hinges on the case for an old Husky Socket set from Home Depot. Given that the sockets last forever, one would think replacement boxes might be available but I have not found one. This was recommended by someone on Youtube and it worked like a charm.
