I find that most red shades tend to be too brownish for my skin tone these days, and unfortunately the Melixir reds I've gotten have proven the same. However, Plum Peony is a nice purplish-pink that looks good with my complexion. It goes on smoothly and doesn't need a ton of re-applying, although it doesn't last as long as beeswax lip balms do. $15 is a bit much for me to spend on one tinted lip balm, but I can't say that this is an inferior product, and if you're a vegan this is probably the best thing available in that category for you.

This is probably the best tinted lip balm I’ve used. It has nice smooth texture. Goes on the lips very well without making them feel greasy. Gives a nice, natural looking color - more like flush of color - making the lips pop. You will probably need touch up during the day. But it’s so great to use, that I don’t mind it at all. I absolutely love it. Highly recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised with this lip butter & the color is very pretty. It's not too dark or too light & seems to stay on my lips longer than expected. I ended up liking it so much, I bought another color. It is somewhat pricey for lip gloss per se, but I will continue to use & would buy a 3rd tube of the lip butter.

I absolutely love the sheer color balm and the packaging is very chic. The capsule closes securely so you don’t have to worry about it coming loose in your purse. However, it dries my lips out. A LOT. My lips are peeling off in sheets like a beautiful Plum Peony snake. Don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty and I’m still going to use it, but it’s not a great 2-in-1 if it doesn’t actually moisturize.
