Made of one piece aluminum it is fairly idiot proof on how to use and determine the choke of your shotgun barrel. The alternative of not using this is to either: (1) guess, (2) accept what may be stamped on the barrel, (3) accept what the seller tells you the barrels are choked, or, (4) use an inside micrometer - take a measurement - then go to a chart - then do a math problem of subtracting your measurement from the full cylinder number. This is so much easier. I wish I had bought it years ago. Just remember that when you drop it in the barrel, you have to push down a little right at the end to get an accurate gauge.
