Beyond DownGel Fiber Side Sleeper Pillow, Standard

EDIT: 10/24/14 Well the pillows I bought 6 years ago finally gave up the ghost starting about a year ago and I've started buying replacements for the dead ones. I still stand by my initial opinion on these although I did switch to getting the Queen size for the new ones, and stuff them into a standard size pillow cover. The dead pillows have been re-purposed and are now being used for dog bed fill. :-)The body pillow definitely bit it first, and wasn't replaced. The king side sleeper isn't much better and not worth the money.But the queen size on these are awesome and continue to keep me comfy, cool, and happy. Worth the price even when not on SuperSale or Daily Deals. (Although that "list price" gig is suspect...LOL!)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>I have a real hard time finding side sleep firm pillows that aren't either bricks or flattened within a couple months. Saw this while surfing Amazon and gave it a try last fall. It's awesome! It's heavier than normal pillows, firm but pliable so I can tuck my arm under it and still feel comfy all night. Holds it shape great. Even washes great. (cold water only!!)Love it so much I tried the body pillow version but it's a standard fill, not a side sleep fill, so it's not as poofy. Body pillow is a 3-1/2 star gig but this side one is definite 5 star. Just bought one to stuff in the carry on bag for my frequent trips too (doesn't like to be stuffed much but God bless space bags).A few have mentioned that the gel fiber is cooler in the summer and that's true also. When the night sweats hit, I just flip the pillow and OOhAAh, nice cool poofy pillow under my head again so I can get back to sleep.Give it a shot...at $12 is worth a try.

very soft and well built. no odor when i opened it. i am a side sleeper and this is the perfect heighth with the gusset. I sleep very comfortably with it most of the time. my only issue is that the internal material seems to 'slip' around a little and the 'fluff' wont stay distributed under my head. it just slips to other areas and I am left with a very thin layer. i compensate for this by folding one corner and forcing the fluff to stay where i put it.

I purchased this pillow because I am a dedicated side sleeper. I loved how comfortable it was and I could "squish" it to form around my neck or any position I wanted since toss and turn a lot and tend to put a lot of weight on my shoulder. Unfortunately, while I loved the feel, it didn't have enough support for me and I ended up with inflammation in my shoulder and needed P.T.My husband and teenager also have this pillow and don't have any complaints - they love it! My husband is a back sleeper who likes a pretty flat pillow; he finds the fill loose enough to allow his head to sink - he hates firm-lofty pillows. My daughter is a mostly side sleeper who bunches it up like I did, but I don't think she sleeps as "hard" on her side as I do. She has not had any problems with the support and adores her pillow.For what it's worth, I still haven't found a pillow that works for me. I think my natural sleeping position is more of an issue than this particular pillow.

OK, I read all the reviews on this pillow I could find. The majority seemed to love it and the few that didn't...well, let's just say I don't understand the nature of their complaints. So I bought the pillow and it's been about a week now. I was having trouble staying asleep with my old pillows, which were just generic pillows bought at places like Kmart. I couldn't be happier. Unlike some of the naysayers, your head sinks to a point and then stops, with lots of proper support/good spine alignment. Almost immediately I fall asleep and when I do wake up in the middle of the night, I can go right back to sleep. I have very physical work, my body gets battered daily and I'm older now. Sleep doesn't come easy and I deal with considerable pain most nights.It seems to be very well made, but obviously I can't tell you how long it will last. In the research I did, they(the "experts") said to get new pillows every couple of yrs. Probably good advice considering you use these everyday of your life. Pay attention to the choices however, because good quality pillows are designed depending on if you are a side sleeper, stomach sleeper, or back sleeper. There are differences therefore in the pillows themselves for different sleep positions.Right now I couldn't be happier with this pillow...if this changes, rest assured I'll be back to update my review!

Geez - my wife and I have been on a 'quest' for many, many years. I was at the point of total disbelief that anyone could make a decent pillow. We have tried over the years, rubber pillows, foam pillows, down pillows - (all of these TOOO HOT during the night), Sobikawa pillows with 'Buck-wheat' - not bad but you'll wake up during the night and wonder why your ear feels like it was punched by Mike Tyson and also why the poor apendage is 'pasted' to your head, the latest one we tried about 8 months ago is the "MyPillow" - first off you have to try to get the right firmness for your comfort ...regular, medium or large? and they are pretty pricey but 'Made in America' ...the pillow is okay, but my wife and I once again, found ourselves flipping the darn pillow several times per night, sweating, and going thru the workday with a sore neck because the pillow slides away from you during the night! I tried this Beyond Down Queen as a once-in-for-all FINAL shot in the dark and guess what.... yep - Halleleuja!!! Thanks for makin a decent pillow. Best sleep we've had in YEARS - cozy, don't have to flip it, Supports your head and neck and no sweating!

Super comfortable! I'm a side/belly sleeper and this pillow is not too tall so that it torques my neck if i'm sleeping on my stomach, which is great. It is downy, doughy, gushy (ie. soft but with a little firmness to it.) Not sure it stands up to the "staying cool" portion of its description, but I'm a pillow flipper and when I do flip it over it feels cool, so works for me! I got it in the Fall however, so not sure how it stands up to summer heat... I'd still very much recommend this pillow even if it doesn't magically stay cool ;) I'm sleeping very well with it.

I have not changed the pillow I had in years, neck was sore , back was , so I decided to buy this one. I ordered for 3 days, it came in 2 days, right to my front door.I have only had it one night and when i first laid on it, my head felt really warm, so I thought I would wake up in a puddle of sweat.. Nope not at all and I was out like a light, even with a brand new pillow..I love it, not sure with back and neck soreness, as its only been one day, but hopefully it goes away in time.. we will see.!!!

Not what I expected at all. I don't feel any gel fibers only synthetic fill. I don't get a good night's sleep on it as my head feels like it is on the mattress and the rest of the pillow is pouffy. I find it a very warm pillow and need to keep turning it over to cool down. It's all. I am able to afford right now however I would not purchase again.

Hands down the best pillow I’ve ever owned. I’ve had feather pillows and even those shredded memory foam pillows from popular online mattress companies. Those are way too expensive and doesn’t hold a candle to this. It’s firm but not hard and gives just the right amount of neck support for side sleepers.

Had this pillow for a while now and while it was great at first, it seems to be flattening out and we are back to a sore neck when I wake up.
