Sharkhide Metal Protectant | Polymer Protectant for Aluminum, Cast Iron, Copper, Brass, Bronze, Steel | Rust, Stain, Oxidation, Streak, & Weathering Protection

Have had for several years. Excellent product. The anchor pulpit on my boat (moored in salt water) still looks like new.

I recently spent about 60 hrs cleaning and polishing my toons on my pontoon boat. I read and ordered this from Amazon but completed my polishing before it arrived. I did not want to put my boat in the water without some kind of protectant on it due to all the work I had done. I went to numerous stores before I found a product that was to protect aluminum. I applied it and went to the lake. Upon pulling my pontoon boat out that night I proceeded to attempt to wipe the water spots off and got really upset. The water spots were like minerals and would not wipe off, needless to say, I was quite discouraged. The next day I sprayed pure vinegar on it and wiped it down and it cleaned up very well and resorted to the fact that I was not going to spend the time to do this every time I went to the lake. I am a guide and am there every other day. I figured it would slowly go back to the way it was and I was o.k. with that. Then the next day Shark Hide arrived, I had already decided that I would return it and let the boat slowly go back to how it was. Upon opening the package I discovered it had gotten a leak from shipping and could not return it, I was a little pissed the way my project was going. I then thought about it, this is made by American Toon. It is for bare aluminum, not your car and your fiberglass boat and as an afterthought also aluminum. It is only for bare metal including aluminum. So I applied it as instructed and went to the lake that night. Upon pulling the boat out and clients leaving I proceeded to attempt to wipe it off as I had before on the other product and was prepared to be disappointed. As I started wiping it down, my exact words were Holy Sh.., this stuff actually works! It took me about 6-7 minutes to wipe my entire boat down and remove all the water spots. This stuff actually works. I have never wrote a testimonial before but as good as this stuff is I thought I owed it to them. Oh and by the way, they replaced my can that was 1/2 leaked out with a new one. Great customer service and a product that actually works.

Goes on smooth. Dries fast. I used it in metal art on my patio. Important to remove any rust that may be present so that was the most time consuming. I put on 2 coats and still have an abundance of product remaining.

No complaints on the job it does. Good stuff. The o ly reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, was the price.

A friend of mine, recommend this product to me and I’m pretty blown away by it so far. I have exposed raw metal on my engine that I would like to keep the color of raw metal. I didn’t want to paint it and this is the only product on the market that I found that I could coat raw metal with. I’ve did a test run on a alternator bracket on my engine and it’s been over three weeks already and the metal looks just as new as when I did the coating. So far so good there is no sign of rust anywhere on the raw metal. I will continue to use the product and give an update later once it’s over six months. as of right now I’m very impressed with it and I would highly recommend it if you like the looks of raw metal.

Easy to apply, crystal clear and thick protection layer.

It's a clear and very fluid product, no shaking needed (it doesn't seem to separate since I've owned it). I just pour it on to a disposal blue towel and wipe it on, it dries almost instantly. It designed to seal metals from the elements keeping them from rusting or aging. It dries very quickly but make sure what your coating has been cleaned to remove any oils, dirt and grease or it will not seal properly, expecially oils, it will make it streak if not. You can put on several coats or just one depending how long your wanting it to last before re-applying. It seems to act or be like some kind of clear lacquer but I'm not sure how lacquer would work on metals (not willing to try). It seems to work on keeping metal protected. I know most metal are ok to apply the product to but I haven't used it on all types. I'm thinking of using it on older sockets (chrome plated) that I've cleaned up to keep them from rusting again (rusted previously before using or know about this product) since I keep them out in the garage and it can get humid and cause them to rust again. I've used it on my bench vise since it's known to rust and a couple other tools to protect them and it's kept any signs of rust away. A little goes a very long ways, so this will last me probably my whole life. I wish it came in smaller sizes since this is quite a bit. I'm very happy with the product so far. I use SharkHide now or Ballistol oil on my tools to keep them in good condition.

This product works great. Applied to the toons on my tritoon and they still look new after our first year in saltwater. Take your time on applying the product and make sure you get full coverage. I can see every small place I missed. Highly recommend!

Great product we now have clean and shiny pontoons! The first time they were done it lasted 10 years. Hope they haven’t changed the product since then. Well worth the work to do it and then use this product

This stuff is really expensive! Sure hope it lasts and prevents oxidation for a few years on my polished pontoons.

It.never.told.us that you have to strip your vehicle of wax and what not . Really would not of bought it if known . And now can't return , thank you very much
