It does a great job of walking you through step by step on ...
This book is AMAAAAAZING! I absolutely adore it. Seriously. It does a great job of walking you through step by step on how to make beautiful things. Are you into home made gifts made with beeswax? Then you will love this book! I am not going to lie, the fact that the book talks about hanukkah and havdalah candles, pulls at this nice jewish girls heart strings. Growing up and hearing and seeing very little about things to do for jewish holidays is hard but seeing this in this book made me SO happy. There is this one candle store in tzvat in israel that makes amazing candles, one of the reasons I got into beeswax so getting to make my own hanukkah candles this year was amazing. I also made some havdalah candles for my brother who is religious, he loved them. This book made it so easy to make real, beautiful and usable candles. I just completed making some hand balm, I modified it with some essential oils and couldn't be happier with the results. I am not sure what my next project from the book is going to be but I can't wait. I'm so grateful the author provides such detail abot instructions, process and how to use it. As a very literal person, I appreciate the step by step. Highly recommend this book for anyone looking to get into some beeswax crafts. This book is made for every level!

Full of Great Things to Make!
This book has everything you could ever hope or want to build with beeswax. I recently got into beeswax in order to make my own soaps, but I've learned you can do much more with them. This book has nine different chapter on different uses, and each category has about 20 different items to make. The staples, such as candles, soaps, and lip balms, but there is so much more. Some of the variety includes furniture polish, hot glue, waterproofing, shoe polish, crayons, and so much more. Admittedly I haven't made close to all of these, so I can't say much for their effectiveness, but the things I have made have turned out great! The instructions were easy to follow, and the book even includes shelf life time.

Beeswax - more than just candles
This book has recipes/instructions for literally everything you can make with beeswax! I was familiar with beeswax candles and soaps, but less familiar with perfumes—and then the recipes continued, going to beeswax for healthcare, saddle polishing, gun maintenance, violin rosin…Making your own crayons…I really never knew how much stuff you could make with beeswax. Of course not all of it is going to be useful for every person—I don’t own a saddle, for instance—but the recipes that are applicable to everyone, like shampoo or lotion, are great, and it’s very cool to see further possibilities. The author also makes a good point about the environmental benefits of using beeswax. I was originally interested mostly because I like crafting, but I didn’t realize regular candles are derived from petroleum. It makes sense to use natural ingredients because we know they are safe. The writing is also very clear and intelligent, and doesn’t condescend in the way some instructional books do. There’s a section at the beginning that talks about how beehives are organized, the different kinds of wax, the melting point of wax, and all the scientific information that’s good to understand while working with beeswax. It assumes you’re a beginner, so it catches you up to speed.

You can use beeswax for everything!!!
I can honestly say I've never been more excited about beeswax after reading this book.Chris Dalziel puts together information and recipes and gives us a detailed guide on making beauty, cleaning, health and decorative supplies using beeswax: the gift that keeps on giving, even though we've (collectively) taken advantage of the precious resource. Dalziel has a section where he talks about how to help the honeybee population and I immediately sent a message to my Facebook friends asking if they have any nectar-producing plants in their gardens.Along with ways we can do our part, Dalziel gives us NUMEROUS ways to use beeswax. From waterproof matches to food wraps to baseball glove conditioner, beeswax products can be used in every part of daily life. How you decide to come upon your beeswax is solely dependent on how labor intense you are, but Dalziel writes all the recipes in the book with clear and concise language that is easy to follow. Although there may be a learning curve for making some products (shampoo bars and such) there are enough of the more simple recipes to keep your interest until you master the more complicated of the amazing beeswax products at your disposal.

Great book with LOTS of recipes
Great book with LOTS of recipes. I have tried many of them and have had problems with only the grafting wax .... it DID NOT come out like a putty, it was much too soft, even after adding add'l beeswax. But the book covers so many practical and handy uses for beeswax and I am loving my cutting board conditioner, food wraps, gardener's salve and many more. It's my 'go-to' resource for all things Bees Wax. Thank you Christine!!

Great book!
This book is pretty thorough. I like the format, and the recipes are wonderful. I will say, that when I got the book, although it was clearly new, there was a very sticky front cover, like a sticker had been removed at the top. It took me awhile to remove it with homemade 'goo'. Now there is a 'shiny' spot, but that doesn't effect the overall greatness of this book. I'd recommend it to everyone who wants to make their own 'stuff'!

Buy this book!
This book is great. There are so many recipes and uses for bees wax here that I will definitely use in the future. Almost five stars but better than 4 stars only because it would’ve been better with weights based measurements rather than volume based measurements. This is my humble opinion. For example: if the recipe calls for a quarter cup of beeswax pellets but all I have is 5 lb block hard beeswax what does that equal in weight (grams or ounces) as I would have to shred my wax first. For now I will just play with quantities and test my results but overall I am thrilled to own this book and be a part of so much knowledge, that is both practical as well as inspiring. I have already made some inspired “Gardener’s Soap” in the shape of bugs and butterflies to gift and sell by modifying the recipe from the book. Fantastic! Bring on the dirt!
