But this statue set is plagued with QC issues. When I saw the video unboxing by manufacturer Multiverse Studios, which was previewing this statue, actually . . . it seemed a great purchase, even for the original price tag of $596.00 of your hard earned money. The guy making the video claimed to be the head of the QC department, and called himself Keanu Reed. The name is suspect, but I hold him responsible for their cheap company using absolutely cheap materials to craft this very limited statue run of 500 units. The resin used is THE most brittle of resin, and after opening the statue to find the poster/assembly instructions bent all over, I got that gut feeling that this statue would follow suit, and I HATE it when I'm right about these things. The first thing I pulled from the foam casing, was the head. It already had a broken piece from halfway along the top bandana flap. This could've happened either when packaging the darn thing, or some delivery mishap, but I think the main fault lies in the non-secure foam slot for the head. None of this foam slotting inside the box is molded to snugly fit any of the pieces. They're all just geometric slots with no padding. Pieces were probably moving about freely as they weren't very secure when I had opened it as carefully as I always open a $281.00 piece of merchandise. It was all down hill from those first two steps folks, because every piece of this set was made from the same material, and I broke a diorama Kunai knife trying to get it to settle in its display slot, and the head of Ayane is magnetized so that it can sit securely on her neck, but as I set that in place various pieces of her hair lockes broke their tips. You can see the broken pieces in my close-up pics of the head. The next to last problem I had was with her right hand. The pictures of her holding her sword from the tip of the handle (the butt end of it) is because the hand was warped and I couldn't slide the handle completely into her hand. I had to use a reamer tool to scrape out a little material from inside her grip in order to make the sword handle slide all the way in. The final indignity of this poorly made piece, was the figure plugging, or NOT plugging properly, into the base. In the pictures you can see that both pegs do NOT fit in both slot-holes at the same time, because the figure legs were warped and if you plugged one in, the other couldn't reach its own plughole. I figured that this statue was already a loss for me, so I forced the leg back, risking a break or a crack in the leg or crotch . . . NOPE, that didn't happen. I got the second peg into the hole, but neither peg was able to go in all the way. Each one was clearly visible by about 2/3. /:-\ After gluing the broken off bandana piece back onto the flap, and gluing the broken kunai knife into the base, Ayane stood looking only SLIGHTLY awesome. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth for having paid as much as I did for the chinsiest statue I've ever bought from ANYWHERE. Multiverse Studios has no business manufacturing limited edition statues, much less SELLING THEM for over $500. It makes sense to me to assume that the reason sellers all across the internet, from ToyHo to Wal-Mart, are cutting the price in half down to what I paid here on desertcart, because I am not the only one who has had this experience. Another handful of users on youtube had similar problems with theirs. The only good part of this purchase, was the two day shipping I paid for, and desertcart's usual dedication to great delivery service. I'm simply choking on the ill-proportioned large cost of this statue and breaking out my tools and paints, to try to fix what I can.
