From Tadpole to Frog (Scholastic Reader, Level 1)

We regularly keep chickens, When it came time to get baby chicks I thought it would be neat to start teaching my kids about the life cycle. They are toddlers, so I will have to read this book to them but it is simple enough for them to understand now. It will be a great book for them to grow with and learn to read with. Simple sentences and vocabulary. Great glossary in the back. Pictures that illustrate abstract concepts. I purchased the butterfly life cycle and chicken life cycle as well.

After an oops summer my daughters pool got tadpoles in it. We used it as a learning experience for homeschool so I thought this book would help my daughter learn more about tadpoles/frogs. It was great. We both really enjoyed it.

Beautiful photos and great descriptions and facts. Not exactly level 1- more like level 2 reader. I consider level 1 to be cvc words- and this had silent e and diagraph blends. That’s ok though- I am using it for the frog lifecycle study in class.

Purchased this for my 4yo grandson and I'm quite pleased, as was he. The text and photos are technical and factual, while being interesting enough for a child.

Got this to go along with tadpoles so the kids knew what they were seeing aa the tadpole grew.

Our grandson has been so enthralled with the idea a ball of slime turns into a tadpole, and then into a frog. He loves any and all frog books. Great value.
