worth reading!
this is an informative account of the life of teddy norton, written by his youngest son. norton was more than the climbing hero of the 1920s (he climbed high altitude without supplement oxygen on everest and held the record here until messner/habeler summited in the 70s) or expedition leader. everest, although the book is called "norton of everest", is only one episode in the rich life of this man. the author quotes and illustrates his book and tells some little, carefully selected, stories about the private man norton. it is very much worth reading.
