totes Automatic Eco Open Close Water-Resistant Travel Folding Umbrella with Sun Protection

This is a purchase for my wife. It replaces one she lost awhile ago. She loves it. Keeps it in her car and with the spring we have had in the Northeast, she has used it quite frequently. Doesn't like to get her hair wet. Because of its size, it is easy to store in the car and use with ease.

Very cute and well-made but light to carry. Great for the sun too.

This is a great umbrella. It looks very expensive and it works great. I love the wood handle. I took off one star because the strap fell off after 3 uses. I live in Southeast Texas so I don’t use an umbrella very much therefore I was disappointed about the strap.

My pretty Totes umbrella just arrived, in time for Hurricane Ida whose remnants will visit New Jersey tomorrow when I have to go out. The big test for me was can I close it and collapse it easily. The last automatic umbrella I had was so hard to collapse that I had to push it against a wall to collapse it. Really hard when it's pouring and you're trying to get in your car. As soon as I opened this one, I was so happy to find that when I pushed the button it opened to a size that will keep me dry and when I pushed the button to close it and I pushed the bottom, it collapsed easily, and I didn't have to use brute strength that I don't have. Thanks Totes, this one is a winner. This New Jersey great grandmother approves.

I love the ease of using this umbrella. Most importantly, I can close it—that last piece where you have to pull it towards you to full close has been a challenge with other umbrellas—not this one.It's compact, well made, and, most of all, as I say, I can fully close it without having to push on something hard.

It is a lovely umbrella and works for sun and rain. It matches the description, and I absolutely love it!

I've always had manual open umbrellas but I like the auto-open feature on this one for when I get out of the car. It's a tad heavy for backpacking but I'll find something different for that.

I bought this a year ago and only decide to read through the reviews again after I was surprised to find the umbrella only appeared to be offering basic (not superior) sun protection. As one other reviewer pointed out, this umbrella more than likely does *not* have SunGuard technology, despite what the ad will lead you to believe, as (1) this is not noting on the packaging and (2) you can see the nylon fabric is semi-transparent and it almost certainly letting a fair amount of light in. To be clear, it's better to use this than nothing, but I do not think has the UPF 50+ like the other true Totes ones do. That aside, it's as crappy as other similar devices; it's probably last you about 25-30 uses before you notice something has broken.
