Good quality, keeps knives organized
I had an existing knife organizer (on the right) and was able to find this one (left) to relatively match for my expanding knife set. Keeps my speciality knives organized and help stay sharp. Love it.

Well made, clean look, “drop-in slots” can be a bit tight for some knives
Well made, nice material, solid build, clean look.Overall, a very nice knife organizer with a couple of minor Issues that may help you make your purchase decision.I own a wide variety of knives including Japanese Deba knives that have wide blades. My true Deba blades are a bit too wide for the knife slots on this organizer. If you own all thin bladed Japanese and Western knives, the narrow slots will not be an issue. If you own multiple wide blade Deba and other thick blade Japanese carbon steel knives, look elsewhere for an organizer with wider blade slots. The center photo shows one of my thick bladed Deba knives and how it rides up in the slot on this organizer. The other issue is that the small knife pockets are a bit high for some paring and some small petty knives. It can be hard to remove the blades from the pockets. One reviewer had a good solution for this problem - a nylon or cloth strip placed under the smaller knives in the pockets.Apart from those two very small issues, this is a nice block. I do a lot of woodworking and I could not buy the raw material for this block for what I paid for this finished organizer. There are a few patriots out there who want to know where this product is manufactured. There are mixed answers. I emailed the company with that question. Will reveal the reply when it arrives. Hope that helps!

Works like a charm
Fits easily in my drawer to hold all the knives that came in a block.

I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS KNIFE BLOCK
I ordered this as I was trying to get my knives out of reach of toddler on the counter. I had a Kapoosh Bamboo knife block. I loved the concept of that you could just stick them in anywhere, but, I guess I had too many knives to fit and the bamboo outer portion broke apart. Well, I did use the block without the "block" for a while and secured it with a rubber band. Needless to say, it wasn't very pleasing to the eye.I researched and came across this one and I was skeptical at first as I know what always happened to my knives in the drawer and you're always sticking your hand in the drawer and the knives run all different ways and can wind up getting cut. Not the greatest. I put this in the drawer as soon as it arrived and it fit perfectly. I was able to store all the knives that I had in my Kapoosh (and a few more). It is great organization for the knives and so easy to get out when you need them. One problem I also had was constantly opening and closing the drawer to get knives out when I needed another one. This won't solve that problem as it is my issue, but, it is easier because I can see what is there and take out more than one knife the first time.I would recommend this to anyone who needs to organize their knives. It is very sturdy, well made and nice looking.

Good, not great.
I needed a knife block to fit in a narrow drawer rather than sit on the counter top, for what is admittedly a cheap set of knives. This one looked like it would best protect the blades, and I liked that it was so heavy.Pros: nice weight, I expected bamboo to be flimsier, I guess, but this is quite solid and doesn't slide in the drawer unless you really slam it (I'm putting rubber mats in soon anyway so it probably won't matter). I like the design, with the recessed slots for smaller knives, and guard for larger ones that keep them from sliding in the block. I love that the blades and tips are completely protected! I like that it's easier to put knives in with relatively uniform slots, so you don't screw up the blade accidentally putting it in the wrong slots (I'm looking at you, kids! It's not rocket science!). I like that there is space for a sharpener, even though mine stinks and I don't use it.Cons: see above where I said "relatively uniform?" Par for the course with a wooden knife block, I suppose, in the drawer or on the countertop. I still have to play musical knife slot, BUT at least now putting it in the wrong slot doesn't dull your blade before you realize your mistake. The only reason I am giving four stars rather than five is that it is specifically marketed as having even slots, and it clearly doesn't.I'm going to give the Bellemain a try and if the blades and tips are as well protected as in this one, I will probably opt for the smaller profile of the Bellemain. I will update soon!

Do they live right around the corner?
I ordered this one day and it was here the next, which made me wonder...do they live right around the corner from me? It was lightening fast! Now on to the review of the product. I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews (wood cracks and gasoline smell), but when I pulled it out of the box, it was beautiful. I didn't smell anything so I stuck my nose directly up next to the wood and I did get a little hint of a smell, but it wasn't gasoline as much as it was whatever product they use to seal the wood...simple fix...just don't' stick my nose up to it! I love the fact that it has a place for the knife sharpener.I liked it so much I decided I would purchase a 12 knife version for the extra knives, but before I made the purchase I found an as-Is bamboo organizer at Ikea for another drawer in my house, but it didn't fit, so I slid it in the drawer to the left of my Noble Home & Chef knife block and it provided me a space for odd knives and my scissors. But, if I ever find I need another knife block, I will definitely make a repeat purchase.Hmm, by the look of my knife drawer you'd think I do a lot of fancy cooking...but last night's dinner was roast beef sandwiches with store bought potato salad! Now with my knives beautifully organized in my Noble Home & Chef knife block, I think I'll try something a little more daring!
