Wada Grip Cello Bow Aid: Universal, Easy-to-Use Grip for Relaxed Playing

Short version: adult beginners struggling with bow-hold, buy this!Long version: this little device has totally re-invigorated my relationship to practice. It turns out SO much of the plateau I was at was due to bow-hold struggles! I had never gotten a hold down that worked for me, constantly felt I was going to drop the bow / gripped it too tight / etc, and it took so much concentration to hold that my left hand really suffered. The first time I practiced with this grip, I played my entire practice rep SO smoothly and well - because this freed up so much of my attention for everything else besides holding the bow.It’s helping me develop those muscles and learn how it should feel to hold my bow without the grip on, as well. I use it while I warm up, to get the feel for the hand-shape, and then take it off to practice rep, and even without the grip my hold is improving by leaps and bounds. It’s not a crutch you’ll be dependent on (like I was afraid it would be), it’s just training wheels!

I have pre-existing carpal tunnel, and my normal bow hold was very painful in my thumb and forearm no matter what I tried. This almost instantly relieved the pain. Still took a few hours to get used to the added weight of the bow and to not grip too hard. But the extra weight is well worth it as I don't have pain anymore while playing

Varios de mis alumnos lo probaron y les gustó bastante, se sienten cómodos e incluso ya piensan comprar uno. Muy recomendable para quienes aún están buscando una buena postura en el arco.

Comfortable for sore hands, and has helped with keeping a bent thumb. Is a little loose on the bow, but that's my only issue with it.

Die Bogenhilfe ist gut für Anfänger geeignet da die Bogenhand dank der Form richtig und bequem liegt. Sie kann also am Anfang eine gute Hilfe sein um die Handposition am Bogen zu finden. So sollte diese aber nicht dauerhaft benutzt werden da sonst das Handgefühl für den Bogen verloren geht.
