The Grill Is Dead; Long Live the Grill!
Two things I have to say up front: We live in Southern California and I love to cook, so my grill is in heavy use year-round (I do have the cover and I use it when it rains) as in, I cook a Thanksgiving turkey in my Dyno-Glo grill. Second, I am buying the same grill again. That's how much I love it.I've used it heavily for five years. I love the flexibility of it, love the warming grills up top, love the two sides flexibility, love the cranking of the pan up and down to control the intensity of the char. Everyone in my family has a different palate and we have people over a lot so I tend to long grills using char-logs and/or wood; three or four rotations and then I'll roast/smoke eggplants or tomatoes on the embers for the next night's meal as we eat.BUT then last night happened. Even though I had just recently (like the grill before) cleaned the ashes out of the pan, I failed to see that the pan had lost structural integrity. The bottom fell out while we were eating and the tomatoes were roasting. Everything underneath and nearby caught on fire. Thank God my daughter looked out the window and saw it and the hose was nearby. All is well but the grill is dead.Long live the grill. I'm buying the exact one (actually hubby is giving me a new one and will assemble it for me because he's wonderful). It's a workhouse and been so much fun. I love it. But I will be more diligent on inspecting the pan. Because nothing lasts forever. And it's a great price point!!!

Great for the Money - Just what I wanted
I have a gas grill, a hybrid grill, two small charcoals and a Bradley Smoker. While I can get smoke from the smoker and the hybrid grill takes charcoal I wanted a large charcoal grill that provided more flexibility than my two small weber charcoals. I saw this for $280 and, while it looked great aesthetically, I was worried based on some of the horror stories in the reviews. With that said, I am glad I bought this. First, all of the parts were there and I had no problems with the grill arriving damaged, although I know that's always a crap shoot and a pain if you do draw a dented unit. The grill went together in about an hour working by myself and taking my time. I think the quality is fine given the price point. I would have to believe others with negative reviews based on quality issues are expecting the construction of a Bull or high end Weber for $280. I think that is unreasonable. This is certainly not a lifetime grill, but it should last many seasons if taken care of properly (most importantly it should be covered) - But who knows.Unlike some other reviews, I didn't find a significant gap between the hood and the frame. You can stick a piece of paper or two in the gap in some places, but again, this is plenty good for the price. The hinges on the hood do allow for a good bit of adjustment despite the reviews, but you should note that the design does have natural play in it (similar to most moderately priced charcoal grills) so a lot has to do whether you bring the hood down crooked or not when you close it. I think that is what people are seeing when they comment on misalignment. The grates aren't that thick and there is a good bit of play in them, but shouldn't really be a problem. Doors on the front look good, but like other reviewers, I don't see much you can really do with them given the way the charcoal baskets sit in the grill.Overall, if you are looking for a nice looking, reasonably priced and roomy grill, I don't think you can go wrong with this.

Grill leaks but can easily be sealed..
Good product if you put a little effort into it which i shall detail below. This grill has all the features i was looking for as i am no fan of gas grills. For the positives.1) Love the double coal lift system2) Love the chimney stack.3) Ash collection tray is a plus also.4) Also like the dual vents on the sides.5) Both the grill cooking surfaces and the coal trays are of sturdy material.6) Grill arrived in perfect order with all the parts needed7) very simple easy to follow instructions. would have taken an hour to assemble by myself (i am very handy with tools etc) if i did not do the modifications below. (added another 2 hours)Now the negatives. The grill is leaky, meaning it is not sealed. which won't allow for good temperature control so i added a few things to make it function perfectly which i will also list below.1) Chimney stack wont close all the way because of a tab they put in. bent the tab back with a vice grip and all was well.2) Chimney stack does not seal on hood of grill. added some 3/8 nomex gasket on the inside of the seating face then screwed it down to hood. problem solved.3) The doors do not seal either which allows for air to enter the grill making it difficult for temperature control. Added sale 3/8 X 1/8 nomex gasket to this. problem solved4) The vents on either side do not seal AT ALL. more nomex tape added5) the hood does not seal. More nomex tape added to the rim of the hood all the way round.6) Frame of the grill not perfectly flush on the inside allowing air in. used RTV high temp sealant for this. (make sure its food grade sealant) problem solved.7) now for the collection tray. This has air gaps everywhere. Also sealed this with nomex but needed thicker tape grade. so used 1 inch X 1/4 inch tape for this.8) Coal basket spaces a bit large so fairly large pieces can fall through. I have seen people use foil for this but i used small square metal wire mesh for this so that the pieces that fall into the collection tray would be smaller. All of these mods added 2 hours to my assembly and another 30 bux in tape purchase but all in all it was worth it. Awesome grill and now i can control the temperature! Only thing i would add to this is some hooks for hanging the BBQ tongs, etc but i can get something at the hardware store for this and add myself.all in all i am happy but its up to you if you want to put in the effort.!

Great cost for a solid grill
This is a great grill. I have only had charcoal grills. I am not sure what people are complaining about with this unit. The heat is adjustable both by venting as well as direct heat adjustment of the height of the charcoal trays. The charcoal tray is much improved from my 10 year old Brinkman grill that this replaces. The charcoal trays always seem to rust out, this tray is actually gauged wire basket as opposed to sheet metal with holes in it to allow ashes to fall to the ash tray. Some of the parts are quite heavy duty, others are cheaper plastic or thin gauged metal, but all in all this grill seems to have what it takes. I have already grilled hamburgers, chicken, steak, salmon, and veggies. All turned out great. Being able to adjust the direct heat on both sides separately is great for cooking. The arms that hold the adjustable charcoal trays seem kind of flimsy but time will tell if they are a problem.I highly recommend following the seasoning instructions of the manufacturer as well as cleaning after every use (inside and out) to ensure the stainless steel stays nice looking as it wouldn't take long for ash build up to discolor. I also highly recommend the grill cover for this unit sold my the manufacturer. It fits perfectly and is good quality. There are quite a few pieces and parts to put together, plan on at least 45 minutes to an hour by yourself.
