Frighteningly realistic
Anyone into military fiction can assume a frightening reading of the. Last 4 books and no. 5 I think is going to even better. Would be a great TV series.

Really great addition to this series
This particular volume was fantastic. This may be the first time I'd read more than four books in a series. I'll certainly be going on to volume 5. I'm really surprised at how this series flows on and on. It will be very interesting to see how the authors wrap this up.

Books 1,2,3 were a strong 5 star, but
This book 4 of the series is still well written, and I must say for a war story it's engrossing. But, descriptions of battles are taking up more and more of the books as it goes along, with less strategy outside the battlegrounds. Also, some swearing is starting to creep in. One draw for me was the clean language in the beginning. We'll see what books 5&6 hold.

Still enjoying the ride, but
This volume was a little slow moving at times. I could have spent less time and detail on the Russian campaign and still have been just as happy. We'll see what happens next

Monroe Doctrine vol. IV.
Another really good book on the series. Realistic and enjoyable.A possible and scary future scenario considering China's worrisome goals.

Variety is the spice of the story
I liked the shifting from one. Front to x another front in the story telling. It was interesting to be on the Russian front and then suddenly we in the air, the stratosphere, with the pilots getting ready for an attack on the radars below or switching targets to ride the Chinese and their super computer of an important resource. Next thing you now you are involved with a submarine attack. And for sure the good guys don't always win the confrontation. Excellent approach.

Lost in a sea of Technology
I am really enjoying this series, but Volume IV had me struggling to maintain my interest. It seems the authors really concentrated on a non stop description of military technology, much like Clancy’s first novels. The authors have a tremendous grasp of strategies and weapons systems, but in the end, the non stop describing of missilery, radars, and technology wore me out.IMHO, the most gripping stories in this genre of fiction are those that focus on those who live and die, not those that focus on arcane technology. As a result, I lost interest in the story, before the story was over!In a nutshell, focus on the storytelling by making us care about the good and bad guys living, and dying, in this war. Balance the mix of war fighting technology with characters we can love and hate.

And that train keeps on rolling...
With Book 4, the war continues to develop, as the tide starts to turn on China, but they continue to make inroads in some areas. The allies start finding ways to blunt Jade Dragon's plans, but at home things start to become worrying as politics rears it's ugly head. The allies work to blunt China's efforts, with "The enemy of my enemy is my ally" becoming the new watchword in Europe. In the Pacific, shocking action changes the balance of power and shocks people across the world, and allies come out to fight against China's continued willingness to do whatever it takes. But not everything goes the Allies way, and there os more work, and more sacrifices, to come.As usual, the Monroe Doctrine is full of action across multiple theatres of conflict, and reminds us that sometimes we may not want to fight, but the alternative may be even more unpalatable.... A great read that kept me hooked all the way to the end.

Wow
Wow,fast paced. Hopefully this would never happen. Then who thought a so called "civilised" nation would attack & try to obliterate it from existing . Some things should remain fiction. This is one of them. If you have a fascination with a twist on the modern political world, sprinkle in a little sci fi , throw in some fast military action, boom. Fast paced & an epic page turner.

Keep 'em coming please!
Once again a tour de force showing the possible and likely horrors of future war. The reader just gets to know a character and empathise with him/her when "bang!" that character is gone. That, more than anything else, demonstrates how horrendous war can be. Brilliantly written and despite all of the death and destruction, totally gripping (for me at least).
