I LOVE this product. The DIY receipe book that is included is so fun to do with my kids. We were able to make face masks, lotions, bath-bombs, and so much more. You can change the quality of whatever you decide to make once the kits supplies are out. But the included supplies are still a good quality. Be prepared to purchase additional items that were not included in the kit since they do not provide a portion of items needed.

I was a little nervous about getting this for my boyfriend's 10-year-old after some of the reviews. I shouldn't have been. This might have been the greatest birthday gift to a little girl that I could dream of. FACT: The level of fun is entirely what you make of it!!! FIRST of all...Dad was happy because it uses natural products and science (he's a health nut chemical engineer) and it's geared towards younger girls (I'd say it's perfect for ages 8 - 12). Upon opening it, her eyes lit up like fireballs and there was no turning back. Anna and I spent Friday night marking our favorite recipes in the (ADORABLE) recipe book. On Saturday all three of us went shopping for ingredients (the very few we didn't have) and talked about chemical reactions. Saturday night we 'pre-made' pink lemonade lip balm for Sunday....On Sunday, we turned the bathroom into a 'spa' with spa music and candles. Then it was GIRLS-ONLY! Per her pleading we sat in our bathing suits in the bathtub with avocado face masks and body scrub. I visit every other weekend and she already can't wait for our next "Spa Sunday." I suggested it would be awesome to buy more tiny containers in bulk and make lip glosses and scented spa stones for her friends. She is thrilled.

One thing to note, this is basically just a recipe book. With the exception of the citric acid packets, you have to supply all of the ingredients for the different treatments. That's not a huge deal, as most of them are common household pantry ingredients (lemon, egg, oatmeal, yogurt, etc) but don't expect to open the box and immediately have treatments ready to mix. You may have to make a trip to the grocery store! That being said, it's still a fun little project. My 6 and 9 year olds were very excited to try a few recipes. The face masks we picked to try first were easy to prepare, but they made more product than we needed. It would definitely be good to use with a group of girls at a slumber party. That's the benefit of making everything yourself, you can do it as often as you want.

I won't repeat what has already been said. Yes, it's expensive; yes the ingredients do not really come with the kit; and yes my six-year-old and 10-year-old daughter loved it. One thing that hasn't really been mentioned that makes the kit better than most of the other spa kits/books I have seen is that the recipes for the most part include ingredients that are commonly already in our house. Most of the ingredients are things like egg, yogurt, oatmeal, and honey, etc. The only ingredient I didn't have for a recipe in the book was avocado and at least that won't be hard to find. Other spa books have had me searching all over town for hard-to-find ingredients, and we have generally given up on the recipe or book by the time we actually locate the very expensive ingredients. This book is not like that – we had most of the ingredients already on hand and could start concocting as soon as the package was open. That makes it five stars for us!

I got this for a friends kids birthday. She is so excited to have a spa day with mommy. But there are some many extra's that they have to go purchase, since they are on a fixed income this was not expected. I would have given them a gift card to go get the rest of the items. It is nice that there is a list in the front of the book for what is included and what is not. Truthfully the only thing that is included in this kit, is a few containers, the recipe book and the glitter. Everything else is stuff that you may or may not have around the house. The book that is included give the recipes and that is great, but you could get that online just as easily. The containers could be what you have around the house, and . . .well do you really need glitter? Love the idea, so happy with the 3 star vote, but not a lot included and just added extra cost to my friend to make these with her daughter.

This was a birthday gift for our 7 year old granddaughter. She loved it and gave her dad a facial. ( He was a good spot letting her do it).

This was a fun kit. While you have to add many of your own products (like brown sugar) the kit was still quite nice as it had things like glitter (something i don't have sitting around the house) and convenient cups to put things in. There were several recipes and everything could be done quite easily. Each project is easy to customize as well. My daughter and I continue to have fun with this set and even branched off into making other natural products (like hair moisturizer). Fun kit, highly recommend. However, you will need to add some of your own ingredients, but all are easy to find.

This product is not worth it. It doesn't include the majority of things needed. You are basically paying citric acid and recipes that you can find for free on pinterest or any website. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
