you don’t have to agree to enjoy
when she tells a story and is not just writing an essay the reading is insightful helpful and a pure delight. The chapters are delicious, entertaining and make you think ( and laugh).i don’t always agree with the perspective or the conclusion but it’s worth the journey to stay on board.

Lovely, as usual and as expected
At least as good as Ms. Higgins’ previous work, Maeve in America, and just as steeped in both humor and humanity. One of my favorite things in reading both was imagining her beautiful lilting accent reading the words aloud. (It really makes a difference.)

If you're going to read a book about the pandemic...
This is a good choice. I enjoyed this book and it feels like a good way to end, knock on wood, the Covid restrictions part of my life.

Meh. Not as funny as I thought
I heard this comedian on a radio interview and she was quite funny, however I think she mentioned the only few funny parts of the book, because so far it’s disappointing. Hoping it gets better.

Enjoyed the essay on mental health particularly
An entertaining read but the author has heart and experience and a lovely way of expressing herself.
