One to read before you 'pop your clogs'...
Jesus said He was the Son of God; He was either telling the truth, or He was lying. And we have to make up our minds before we die, because 'He that believeth on Him, shall have everlasting life'. This inspiring book recounts the author's experience of her time 'on the other side' when she lay dead in hospital for almost half an hour. The experience changed her life, her outlook, her relationships - and, she would say, all for the better. Her honesty in her self-criticism shines through, and therefore I think that she was equally sincere in her descriptions of what she saw and heard.I found the book very easy to read and one I couldn't put down. It leaves us with a choice to make about God and his Son Jesus Christ: to believe or not to believe, that is the question'. Believing gives hope of the afterlife that Betty so eloquently described.

Astounding and moving
Deeply honest account of a turn from selfish materialism to a walk with Jesus by his Holy Spirit in a place of pain and illness through loss and including a return from death yet still facing grief. I first read this 30 years ago, on rereading the account touches much deeper, really moving and challenging.

Hallucination, dream or just fiction?
I persevered with this book well after it became obvious that this was the product of a deranged religious fundamentalist. I was hoping for some intelligence and self-critique of these alleged experiences but none appeared. The reader is presumed to simply accept the author's description of her alleged experiences at face value despite the blatantly obvious contradictions. God has apparently chosen this woman for resurrection whilst every day thousands of innocent children die from preventable diseases and malnutrition. The narcissistic self-regard of the author is quite breathtakingMost people reading it will be constantly asking themselves if this author is for real and, if nothing else, it is a reminder of how crazy Christian fundamentalists are. It is worth reading, if you can get it for free (don't pay), simply to be aware of the dangerous delusions that some people live their lives under. It takes irrationality to an absurd height. It is self indulgent and egotistical.
