Not the greatest reference book, but helpful
Small, short book. I would have liked pictures/images to go with descriptions/instructions in the book, but was an okay purchase.

A complete waste of time and money.
This book was very disappointing, pretty much summing up the author's opinion as, "Most things won't grow in Utah, so you might as well abandon the effort."It attempts to promote agrarian techniques of the early pioneers and might be relevant if we were living in the 1800s. However, when fact checked against other sources on the internet, the book is just plain wrong in many cases.Furthermore, the 56 pages of content, presented in an almost large print format, leaves much to be desired. Themeager content, combined with absolutely zero drawings, diagrams, pictures, or other useful visual aids, makes it a poor choice if you really desire to learn about gardening in Utah.It should more accurately should be described as a pamphlet, as it typically dedicates just a paragraph or two for most to key topics. Instead of going in depth and giving the reader something of value, it refers the reader to other written works of the author (for additional purchases). In conclusion, this book is $7.99 and 55 minutes (how long it actually took me to read it and no doubt how long it took the author to write it) I'll never get back. The people who gave this book a 4-star review (all two of them) should be ashamed of themselves.

But definitely a good buy if you are wanting to garden in Utah ...
I was expecting it to be longer and more comprehensive. But definitely a good buy if you are wanting to garden in Utah or any other dry area.

Interesting small book.
Small but interesting book, primarily focused on arid Utah.

Has common information
In short this very short guide has a lot of run of the mill information that most experienced gardeners or even those who are just starting know. While it has some nuggets of wisdom, again if you have grown up or live in climates described. Then most of this is second nature. The items that could of made this book descent are all “out of the scope of this book.” The author uses this to encourage reading his other books on the topics. This takes away from the book and makes it seem more like a lengthy sales pitch. I for one will not be returning to his works any time soon.

Not particularly useful
This was more of a pamphlet than a book. I scanned through it pretty fast and borrowed it for free from the library. Glad I didn't actually spend money on it.The author self-promoted frequently, with many references to other 'books' he wrote for you to find more information on or multiple references to get seeds at the seed website he owns. His suggestions aren't all that useful or helpful, and I didn't pick up any new ideas to help out my gardens.
