The Room Where It Happens: A Lent course for groups or individuals based on the musical Hamilton

Good material but you can’t get hold of the DVD yet

I am ever grateful to Bishop Rose for introducing me, through this book, to the musical 'Hamilton', which I had never had the slightest interest in. It is truly stunning! You really do need to have seen it to fully engage with this Lent course.As for 'The Room Where It Happens' book and Lent course, I was less swept away. Certainly there are many interesting and thought-provoking moments and I admire Bishop Rose for sharing aspects of her own life so candidly. These passages were the best of the book.Otherwise, I felt that the sections didn't seem to build on one another and so it all felt a little disjointed. Each chapter contains reflections, Bible readings, questions, and prayers. There are some beautiful prayers here but the questions often seemed not to quite make sense. But, we used the book in my church's Lent Bible study group and it really did provoke some good discussions, which is just what one wants from a Lent course.
