Versatile vegetarian meal ingredient
Nice sized chunks of TVP which I've been searching for locally with no luck. We love it rehydrated with vegetarian broth or bouillon, then made into a "chicken" salad. It's also wonderful to use in a vegetarian chili or stew. Will be ordering more to keep on hand.

Easy to use and decent option
These are quick and easy option for some protein. I wish there were a way to ensure they didn't get to crushed in shipment. I would purchase again.

Not a fan - but good if you are
I used these for the first time in a stew as a beef/lamb replacement. The pieces I got were smaller than stew sized chunks and more like marble, crumbled sausage sized. You can see them just south of the potatoes in the picture. I wouldn't really call them chunks in that case. I added them to the stew without soaking first thinking they would absorb the broth and end up chewy and tasty which is pretty much what happened. They were still spongier than I would have liked, however. That's probably a me problem and not the fault of the product. They are "neutral" flavored for the most part, but there is an odd after taste I can't describe. It reminded me of soy curls but not as assertive. I guess it just wasn't my favorite and if I had to make the stew again, I would have used seitan or left out any kind of meat substitute entirely. I still have the rest of the bag, so I'll give them another try in something else. I could see them being a good sub for sausage on pizza or in biscuits and gravy. Overall, 3 stars for me but I could see them being a 5 star product if you love the flavor and texture.

Way better than the small stuff...
I ordered this TVP to make vegan breakfast sausage crumbles. I've used the small TVP before but I wanted something between the small stuff and the soy curls. This is great! It absorbs spices and flavorings very well and works great for the "sausage" I wanted to make and is great in spaghetti sauce. I use it in so many ways. I really like the larger chunks as I feel you get a better bite. I haven't tried them in "burger" patties yet as I have a great recipe for that uses the small stuff. (If it ain't broke....) Anyway, I recommend if you are trying to find a soy product that is more of a medium size. It's gluten free, diary free, and cholesterol free. I really like it!
