A Very Satisfying Read
This is the third book in the Peachtree Bluff series and it was great to learn what happens next to Ansley and her three daughters. Each book is written from the point of view of Ansley and one of her daughters. This one is about her youngest daughter, Emerson. So much of what’s written from Ansley’s (the mom) point of view made me laugh because she describes what it’s like to be the mother of grown children so well. And the parts from Emerson’s point of view are so typical of how young adults view the world. Through it all, in spite of what secrets are revealed, the sisters and their mother have an unbreakable bond. And this family has a LOT of secrets.I also like that it portrays romantic relationships with all the good, bad, and ugly that goes with them in real life. And sometimes love (and families) don’t look exactly like you expect them to.The whole series is good. It would be a great summer beach read since it’s set in a beach town. I finished this book on a cold January day curled up on the sofa, so enjoy the series whenever and wherever you read it!

perfect beach read.
This is a sweet story about a mom and her three daughters. It sits with me as I have three daughters. Navigating life, love and work Ansley makes it look easy almost romantic. Great pallet cleanser after a darker book read.

The characters were authentic, realistic and flawed.
I had read Kristy Woodson Harvey's previous book, Lies and Other Acts of Love, so when I saw this book, I really wanted to read it. Unfortunately, life got in the way and lots of things happened that kept me from reading. That is, until now. I'm traveling back in time and catching up with all the book reviews I never had a chance to complete.Today's book, The Southern Side of Paradise by Kristy Woodson Harvey, is the third in her Peachtree Bluff Series. I must have been living under a rock and did not know this was a series and hadn't read the first two books, but this book served as a stand alone. The author does a wonderful job of filling in all the pieces of the previous books so I was brought up to speed and didn't feel lost. (To be honest though, I now need to get the other books and read them to find all the pieces.)The women in The Southern Side of Paradise are so real, strong, honest, and totally relatable to readers. While I'm very different than Ansley or her daughters, I can still relate to all her struggles and fears. I especially loved how none of the choices that these characters faced were simple or easy. It made the story and the characters so much more authentic, realistic and flawed.Reading this story was like sitting down with a friend over a great cup of coffee. Ms Harvey's writing style flows easily as readers move from one family member to another.

Family love
I read this book as part of a book club and although it is not my usual genre, I was happy with the whole story. It takes place in Georgia about a family who goes through not only happiness but heartache as well. It centers around Ansley whose husband died in 9/11. She has two sisters, Sloane and Caroline and they all seem to be very close. We travel along with the family through their ups and downs and see how close sisters can be. It was a heartwarming story of love, romance and heartbreak. But also hope and support.#fourstars.

Small Town, Gilmore Girls Vibes!
The Murphy family has suffered loss and unbelievable circumstances but have managed to pull through it. Ansley, the mom, is reunited with the love of her life after her husband has passed in 9/11. Her daughter Caroline is recovering from her husband cheating with a reality star and trying to recover her marriage. Emerson, her sister, played the reality start in a movie that her sisters husband cheated with and is back in town temporarily to spend time with her boyfriend Mark. And Sloan is adjusting to her husband being back home after he was captured on deployment and tortured. All of the sisters still dealing with the death of their father and struggling with their own issues. This book is based on a small beach town in Georgia which gave me major Gilmore girl vibes! The Murphy sisters have a bond like no other with each other and their mom. This is the third book In the series, but can be read as a stand alone because it fills in a lot of details. I found myself laughing out loud at certain moments throughout the book! This is a perfect beach/pool read! It was light and funny but also had the perfect amount of depth to make it serious in some aspects. I enjoyed all the characters but my favorite would definitely be Coffee Kyle! (Reminds me of luke, but way younger and more attractive lol

Good book
This is the first book I have read by this author. I have never seen a family with so many secrets! It is interesting how they handle them when they are revealed.

Great Story
This book is a Brenda Novak Reading Challenge. I usually prefer to start a series at the beginning. This is the third book in the Peachtree Bluff Series. Now that I’ve read it I will have to read the first 2 of the series and any more that might come along. In this book, Ansley is the mom of 3 adult daughters. The “voice” of the book alternates between Ansley and her youngest daughter Emerson. Their wonderful stories keep the reader entranced. The characters come to life.
