Quality writing
A conspiracy novel, very much enjoyed. The professional aspects of the author’s working background, come through strongly, and add authenticity to the story. Lots of excitement and dilemmas, well handled. Author made it particularly interesting, weaving fact with fiction – learnt a bit of interesting history. The antics of the Catholic Church (does the Pope know what’s going on in his domain?) were believable. Many thanks.

Great reading
I liked Delaney. Very well written character and along with the rest of the characters in this book, it made for a very good read. Held my attention and stole my sleep. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A quality thriller in the spy/mystery genre
This was a compelling book. The action moves really well, the characters have depth and are believable, and there is great sense of place - you don't feel cheated of anything to get to where the book takes you. The writing is masterful, without the puerile cheap thrills and misogyny that so often litter this genre. I can easily imagine it becoming a movie as images were in my head all the way through reading. It was such a great read I have loaned it or given copies to others - without exception all have loved it and voraciously gone to the other two volumes in the Delaney trilogy (also fine books). More please!
