Excellent crime anthology
Capital Crimes is a great crime based anthology. I assume that at least one of the stories would've been bad, I was wrong. All of the 10 stories are different, there's a secret agent son, the leader of one of the Serbian forces who committed atrocities, the soldier getting ready to go across the pond in World War I, the Indian Marines, and so on. I especially liked the story Mountain of Light about the Indian marine commandos; who can say that they are not minor gods? Karma is another great story about the Serbian war criminal who ultimately gets his just desserts. The writers in this analogy seem to all have some kind of European background especially British English speakers who use English terms such as: bloodly, arse, class A's, parlour, etc. I now have 10 additional authors whose books I would like to read. I highly recommend this analogy. You will enjoy these authors imaginations.

A great book
This is that rare beast, the anthology which doesn't contain a single story about which I have reservations. They differ in length and aren't at all similar in theme, though there's an abundance of corpses. I really enjoyed the diversity here, some being amusing as well as thrilling. These short stories show ingenuity, some slick and classy writing and will give you another set of authors to follow. A great book.

Entertaining anthology with a cast of colourful characters
I downloaded this book on the strength of the contribution by Charlie Flowers whose series starring that devastating duo Riz Sabir and Holly Kirpachi is a great favourite of mine. Indeed his story featuring the small but lethal Holly is one of the highlights of this anthology. How she deals with getting in and out of a heroin den of iniquity with a young lad in tow is a lesson in nerve and ruthless payback. In other stories, we have Ratso who takes on Chinatown to the sneering disbelief of his boss, a talented plumber who chases a fallen angel through a Gay Pride parade, a barrister called Masters who exacts a certain revenge for hire, an estate agent who regrets the day he saw a dead guy in the street, Jonty the soldier who negotiates with a deserter for his life, an attempted burglary at the Tower of London, Vlatko Kasun's karma, two cops go after £45K and clash with MI5, and Chris Butler's past catches up with him at just the wrong moment. There are no two stories alike. Cheer the goodies, hiss at the baddies, and enjoy some jolly good writing with colourful characters and choice dialogue. Recommended
