Why would i need an sdi to hdmi convertor? i have 100' long optical hdmi cables.

If you use optical HDMI cable, you don't have to use SDI to HDMI convertor. SDI to HDMI convertor is mostly for long cable runs when they have regular HDMI cables and HDMI display.

Has anyone else experienced a delay with this camera? Just got 3 and they all have about a half second delay…

Video out through HDMI or what? If IP streaming, it has delay. How many delay depends on the network speed and network devices and software. If HDMI, it should be no delay. If it has, pls change another high HDMI converter or blackmagic switch. If SDI, it should be no delay. If it has, pls change another high quality SDI converter or blackmagic switch.

These cameras can be controlled over TCP/IP using VISCA commands. I use the Elgato Stream Deck to control pan, tilt, zoom and presets. There are other command options, as well. The Stream Deck connection uses the TCP/IP address of the camera as the address and sends commands over the Ethernet cable. We use an SDI cable for video and the Ethernet for control, as well as powering the camera with Power over Ethernet by connecting the cameras to a POE+ switch.
