Hb Artist Acrylic Basic Set/12 60Ml

Review of Holbein Hb Artist Acrylic Basic Set/12 60Ml Holbein makes some of the best professional acrylic paints available. I’ve been painting for over 50 years and using acrylics for nearly all of that time. I’ve used Golden, Liquitex, Old Holland, Utrecht, Grumbacher, Sennelier, among others and these stand up well against any of them. The Holbein are densely pigmented, smooth and consistent across the colors. They stay wet fairly long for working the paint. I bought this set specifically to use for my acrylic plein air paints because they do stay wet well, also the tube size fits well in my paint box. I have supplemented this set with only a couple of convenience colors not included in it that I like: Hooker’s Green (also Holbein), Cad Orange and Alizarin Crimson Hue (both Liquitex) I also use a large tube of Liquitex Titanium White. I could use the Holbein Titanium White, but the Holbein texture is a bit more fluid than I like my white, I do like that for other colors though. Note that the Holbein white is perfectly usable just not my preference for that color. This set contains all the colors you need for a warm and cool dual primary palette, plus a few extra: Burnt Sienna, which is a good under painting color, Dioxazine Violet, Mars Black, Phthalo Green, and Middle Green. My personal preference would be to switch out the Mars Black for Alizarin Crimson Hue or Cad Orange Hue as I do not use tube black paint in my own work. Currently I am using these paints in both studio and plein air painting. This is my second purchase of this particular 12 pack of paint. The price is pretty good for professional level paint when purchased in this set at 108/12=$9.00 per tube. Attached is a painting I did using mainly these Holbein paints as described above.

I can't say this is traditional heavy body acrylic, it's more like soft body. These colors are curated perfectly. I wish they would sell bigger sizes on Amazon but I'll take the tubes. Use right out of tube or thin it down and use it for a watercolor consistency. Very versatile

La pigmentacion y saturacion es sensacional,solo me falta pintar bien.
